The 17" display at the traditional 4:3 (roughly) aspect ratio provides plenty of "real estate" for viewing Internet content, for graphics work and page layout, and for working in several application windows at the same time. The screen resolution (1280x1024) is fine, making for clean and crisp images. The refresher rate is also satisfactory, as there is no apparent flicker and video appears smooth.
The menu and settings for brightness, contrast, etc. are simple and intuitive. I haven't had to make any custom settings and I'm happy with the presets.
It's a good monitor at a very competitive price!
