(More customer reviews)I needed a compact flash to cover industrial operating temperature range -40C to +85C and able to run OS like Windows XP perfectly. The minimium requirement to run OS on compact flash is UDMA. But not all compact flash with UDMA can run OS with no complication. I had tried Lexar Professional 8GB 300x. It installed XP ok but it did not run smoothly. Error popup here and there. After I did more research, I found Transcend TS8GCF100I. After Lexar failed, I was not sure what to expect. To my amaze, TS8GCF100I ran perfectly without hiccup. Then I ran it through temperature and damp heat tests. All were ok. It has been running for 3 to 4 months now and no issue has been found. I am planning to make TS8GCF100I a standard installation for our APP-601 recorder. The 16GB TS16GCF100I would be nice upgrade if more memory is needed.

(More customer reviews)Having owned one of the Thermaltake BlackX versions of these type of docking solutions before, I was eager to try one of these new dual unit stations.

These are a pretty solid product and I found them much cheaper (by about 25% or so) on Amazon than Newegg. The only negative I have in comparing this to my last docking station is that the Thermaltake was a snug fit. The 3.5" drive felt very secure and stable in it. There was no room for wiggling.

This docking station is not as snug. In fact, once you've docked your drives in it, they can still wiggle if you nudge them. These do not detract significantly from the quality, but I would be more careful with placing them in an undisturbed area than before. If I had paid the full price Newegg and others were charging, it might be enough to make me return it and look for something with a tighter fit.

I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend this to someone looking to attach extra storage, backup drives, or even someone like myself who has a shelf full of 3.5" drives that they only occasionally need to retrieve something from. It beats the solution I had years ago with two or three dozen large isolated external cases with power adapters, fans, ribbons, USB cables...

Now... when does the triple and quadruple dock arrive?

Philips DCM250 Docking Entertainment System Review

(More customer reviews)I received my Philips DCM250 and have been nothing but impressed by this unit. Right out of the box, it's a gorgeous piece. Very sleek and very modern. The scrunched up photograph on the page does it no favors whatsoever, so make sure you look at the larger image. It took me no more than a few minutes to get the unit set up in my bar room and it was off to the races with my iPod.

The sound quality immediately blew me away. This unit sounds fantastic. It's got two large, ported speakers that produce the full spectrum really well. What I really noticed was how much punch the little unit could throw behind bass. It's incredible. It doesn't quit at high volumes either, it fills the largest room of my house with enough sound that it starts to resonate off the walls creating a pseudo-surround effect without any distortion whatsoever.

I chose to navigate to whatever album I wanted to listen to using my iPod wheel and just turning back to what I was doing. You can't really read the iPod screen from far enough away to bother trying to control it's playback with the remote. What the unit does do though that's special is it has full video support. You can plug it directly into your TV via component cables that are included to get a large screen and full video playback.

It has a ton of playback sources. Along with the iPod it has AM/FM radio support that can be boosted with included external antennas, it plays CDs including discs that are loaded with MP3 files and it has an Aux input and a dedicated USB input. I tested the USB input with my Sandisk Sansa Clip and was able to get playback from it also once I played with the USB mode on the Sansa. If you have a device and you want to plug it into this, there's an input for it.

I really recommend this unit. It is easily the finest iPod dock that I have ever touched in this price range.

iConcepts 79033N 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, given the price of the speakers, which is only 21.99, don't expect a theatre sounding system or mind blowing audio. But it still is very good and if you're on a budget, and just want some cheap speakers for your computer but with still good quality audio, then I highly recommend these. Treble and bass is very good. Bass does not drown out the music like other speakers do. And I for one did not want a speaker system that has all the extra controls like for treble and bass. That is just extra crap I don't need and too fancy for me. Just wanted something simple with an off/on switch and volume control. And this does it.
Also, if you have an equalizer on your computer, like mine does, USE IT! It really makes a HUGE difference!!! All I listen to is rock and metal, so I have put the equalizer on ROCK, and boy does it drastically make the audio superb and improve it.

Lastly, just to let you know, the speaker system I received is not the one pictured by amazon. They must have updated this model or something. It doesn't matter to me though, nor should it to you.Definetley recommend these!

(More customer reviews)When we got my wife a new Mac a few years ago, we had to get an adapter to use her old ADB keyboard.(It's a $200 ergonomic keyboard, so an adapter was cheaper than a new one--and the anti-ergonomic keyboard Apple shipped with the Mac was not an option.) The one we got worked, most of the time, but it was a lot of hassle.We had to reinstall the drivers at least once; and it had a persistent problem that it kept hanging, or something, so that we had to unplug it and plug it back in again to reset it.
Then she moved to OS X, and the old adapter didn't work any more; no drivers for it.So, again, it was cheaper to get a new adapter than to get a new keyboard.This one turned out to be great: no flakiness, and it didn't need drivers; OS X just recognized it and it worked.It Just Works.

(More customer reviews)I assume very few people are looking for BX motherboards, and virtually no one will ever read this.However, I feel it necessary to describe the board more accurately than I have seen it in online catalogs.Specifically, the maximum CPU you can put on it is a slot1 800E (coppermine) with a 100Mhz front side bus speed.It does not support any CPU with an EB suffix (front side bus of 133Mhz).The maximum amount of RAM supported Is 768Meg - but it must be doublesided 256Meg modules (3).If single sided modules are inserted, it will read them as 128Meg, each.You can use PC100 or PC133 SDRAM modules.I do not know the upper limit for hard drives.I'm running 80Gig drives on two of these boards, so the limit is higher than that.I'm guessing 128Gig.The board I got was new in the original box, and the CMOS battery was dead - to be expected on a 10 year old product.I have extras, so no problem.

Read the manual.Before putting power to this board, a jumper must be moved to put it in a maintenance or configuration mode.This is like "administrator mode".After setting everything the way you want it, save the CMOS settings.It will tell you to shutdown and move the jumper to the normal position.Once you have shut it down and moved the jumper, when you turn it back on you will be in "user mode".There may still be some settings you might want to change in this mode.If the battery dies, you have to go through all this again.Relax, my oldest board is going on 5 years on the current battery.

If you don't like the big INTEL logo when it starts, go into the "user mode" settings and tell it to display the diagnostic screen.You can also see this screen if you hit ESC during boot with the logo.

(More customer reviews)I didn't do enough research on the product before I ordered it.It doesn't support the native Windows XP Blue Tooth drivers provided by Microsoft and the drivers provided by Belkin are not 100% compatible with some of the newer Bluetooth devices available.The only way to get it to work at all is to run the full install from the Belkin CD and it disables the Windows Bluetooth services and replaces them with Belkin services rather than just providing a driver that works with the native windows Bluetooth services.This is most likely because this device has been around since before Microsoft released support for Bluetooth technology.It would be nice if Belkin released an updated driver but they haven't..
