(More customer reviews)Be sure to use the included silicon fan mounts, since they will cut the noise more than the fan will. Also, the fan comes with some resistor extensions that you can use between the motherboard and the fan to cut the fan speed and noise. The low noise adapter (black) cuts the RPM down to 1,100 RPM, and the Ultra-low noise adapter (blue)cuts the RPM down to 900 RPM.

I found that the black low noise adapter was the one to use. The blue one provided too low of a voltage, and the fan sometimes would not start up on such a low voltage.

Arctic Cooling Arctic Fan 9 PWM - Case fan - 92 mm Review

(More customer reviews)I found Arctic Cooling by accident. It was a discontinued product at 30% off. Amazingly, it works much better than many of the "good" fans!

Being annoyed by so many loud fans, I found AC PWM a bless. I ordered from Amazon as the local store doesn't have any left.

The PWM fan is supposed to work with the main CPU fan to provide synced cooling. No complain there.

However, the amount of air it moved is stlightly on the low side. It is still alot to move, just not enough comparing to some other fans. Well, other fans are not that quiet though!

The "loudness" rating of this fan leads me no where. Roughly I think it is less than 10dB.

Cheap, quiet, nice looking PWM fan is the choice for everybody!

Zalman ZM-F3 120mm Quiet Case Fan with Silicone Pins Review

(More customer reviews)This 120mm fan is really nice. It's pretty darn quiet, and very powerful. For a basic 1-speed fan, you can't do much better.

A few things worth noting:

1. The silicon pins provided for mounting the fan may not work in every application. I used screws from my computer case to mount the fan as the silicon pins were not the right size.

2. This is a mono-speed fan. However since it plugs directly into the motherboard, you can control its RPM through your motherboard's controls or a third party program like RivaTuner.

3. The fan is very quiet compared to many others. I think its probably quieter than even the fans that came pre-installed in my Antect P182 case.

A great fan and well worth the price.

I finally installed the covers I have for my project and they look great and finish things off very well.No problems on install, and the air flow is still pretty good.I would use these again as they protect your fingers, wires, and other things from the fan blades and the mesh screen helps in keeping even smaller things out.The most I would spend on them though would be $4 ... maybe.

I have not installed the fan cover yet, but it is a bit flimsy looking.That does not mean it will not perform well.I will post an update after I finish my project with them.I bought this a few weeks ago and it was less than 3 dollars shipped, now it is 22 dollars.I must say I am a bit confused as to the price hike.

(More customer reviews)Although iMacs are designed to handle the heat generated using "passive" cooling (read no internal fan) I always use the philosophy that cooler is better.I mounted this fan behind my iMac and use an already existing hub to plug it in.It's quiet and the computer runs noticeably cooler.Will it increase the life of the computer?I don't know.But like I said, cooler is better.I do wish there was a power switch incorporated into the speed control but unplugging it isn't really much of a problem.I'm totally satisfied with the unit.
