Arctic Silver Matrix Thixotropic Premium Thermal Compound-2.5G (MTX-2.5G) Review

Arctic Silver Matrix Thixotropic Premium Thermal Compound-2.5G
Average Reviews:

When my power supply blew I thought I would take the chance to re-seat my heatsink as well.
I installed it several years ago using an older type of arctic silver and I noticed temps were running much too high. I assume the older stuff hardened and then the heatsink was nudged and wasn't making a good connection anymore.
Re-seating it with this compound lowered temps significantly and it seems to be high quality stuff.

This cooler is QUIET and holds cpu (AMD) to less than 105 F.

So my media playing PC is audibly invisible.

I'm a permanent user of these coolers for good!

These are the quiestest fans I have ever had the pleasure of not hearing.
I had two antec in the front of my computer case and they were driving me crazy, computer runs around the clock. I have not even thought about these fans since installing them which means I had not heard them to think about them.Had to put my ear to the front of the case to make sure they were running when I got ready to write this review, don't believe you can go wrong on these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nexus 80mm Real Silent Case Fan - SP802512L-03

The Nexus 80mm quiet case fan has a true 17.6 dB(a) decibel rating that is measured in an anechoic chamber using ISO standards. This is one instance where the case fan's decibel ratings haven't been understated by the manufacturer.

This Nexus 80mm silent case fan is extremely quiet and is quieter than any other 80mm quiet case fan on the market. Yet the Nexus still produces an excellent 20.2 CFM airflow level and is available at a reasonable price. This quiet fan also includes the added advantage of both a 3-pin motherboard power connector and a 4-pin standard power connector making this a very versatile quiet case fan.

Features:

Real Silent, only 17.6 dB(A)
High airflow level, 20.2 CFM
3-wire for RPM monitoring
3-pin motherboard connector
Two 4-pin connectors (male and female)

Thermalright MUX-120 - Processor heatsink - ( Socket 1156 ) - aluminum - 120 mm Review

Thermalright MUX-120 - Processor heatsink - - aluminum - 120 mm
Average Reviews:

I've been waiting for a good offering of socket 1156 HSF options and this Thermalright MUX-120 delivers.I bought this HSF to use with my Intel Core i7 860 CPU (non-overclocked).I was previously using the Intel stock heatsink and fan which left a lot to be desired in both performance and noise.

The original Intel HSF gave me idle temperatures between 35-40 degrees Celsius and 100% load temperatures 80-82 degrees Celsius which is very high.

After installing the Thermalright MUX-120 with some Artic silver thermal paste, my idle temperatures dropped to 20-22 degrees Celsius and 100% load temperatures of 50-55 degrees Celsius.

The MUX-120 is also much quieter than the stock Intel HSF with a constant speed 120mm fan running at roughly 1200RPM.I cannot hear the fan from the MUX-120 from outside of my Antec P183 case.

The MUX-120 came well package and with a clear instruction manual. The installation was easy, although it does require extra time for the removal of the motherboard if your case does not have access from behind the socket because a metal back plate is required for a stable installation.

The MUX-120 weighs a decent amount, but it fits well and doesn't bend/lean once the case is setup correctly.I would highly recommend this to anyone with a socket 1156 who wants a well-performing HSF with very little sound. If you plan to overclock your CPU it may work well for limited overclocking, but you might need a faster fan to provide better cooling if you overclock aggressively.

New Thermaltake Sopranors 101 VG7000BWS Chassis High Quality Excellent Performance Popular Review

New Thermaltake Sopranors 101 VG7000BWS Chassis High Quality Excellent Performance Popular
Average Reviews:

I bought this case in a brick & mortar but figured since there was no review here I would add my thoughts.I started out with a HP m7680n Media Center PC with XP on it, then moved to Vista, then to Win 7, then a new PSU, video card, and this case, and ultimately a new mainboard and peripherals. So now I have an entirely new computer (except for a Wireless-G card, modem and DVD Drive) and its the greatest PC I've ever built. All with this great case.

That's not to say it doesn't have it's weaknesses, but overall I'm very happy with it.I now have an Asus P5Q PRO Turbo Motherboard, Core 2 Duo E6400 overclocked to 2.9 GHz, 6GB DDR2 RAM, 768MB GeForce 9600GSO overclocked, 750W Antec Power Supply, Corsair Quad Pipe dual fan CPU Cooler, 3TB HD Storage with a separate 500GB RAID 1 Array for the OS, and 3 120mm, 1 80mm, 1 60mm PCI Video Card Fan.I admit that the see-through plastic side panel is a little weak, it has never come apart on me.The attachemnts aren't the greatest, but it's only a small issue.

The case uses tool-less brackets and attachments for the hard disks, pci cards, cd/dvd drives, and of course the main side-panel.I've pushed this rig pretty far, but I'm not a gamer so I didn't go too crazy.I could if I wanted to though.Right now my M-board is 24*C and CPU is at 33*C.I do have a corsair dual fan CPU cooler, but either way the case runs very cool.I have 3 hard disks installed and the case allows you to put a fan directly in front of them. With (4) 5.25" bays and (7) 3.5" bays you have quite a bit of space for any storage/media combination you can think of.

One thing to remember is that this is a big case.. a full ATX. But if that's what you're looking for then this is the one for you.I only have a half-inch between the end of my CPU cooler and the side panel, and my video card is so big it blocks access to one of the 3.5" bays.In any case it looks good and performs even better, so if you can spare the loot, I say go for it!!

Corsair Hydro Series H70 High Performance CPU Cooler CWCH70 Review

Corsair Hydro Series H70 High Performance CPU Cooler CWCH70
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Crosshair III Formula MB with a AMD Phenom II 965X4 BE 140w CPU.Starting my computer my CPU temp would be 32c after a few minutes it would raise to 45c doing normal things like playing music and surfing the net. I couldn't play games like Call Of Duty Modern warfare 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 without the CPU overheating past 60c in a matter of minutes. If I tried to run Prime95 it would overheat my CPU in a matter of seconds.

I install the H70 in about an hour, luckly I watched the video a while back on installing the H50 because the instructions for this thing are useless! Starting my computer for the first time it was at 32c after about 5 minutes it when to 34c. I started checking everything because this thing has never ran this cool. I ran prime95 about 45 minutes and the top temp was 45c(what? that's what I use to idle at). I went back to music and this review while running Spybot S&D and I'm at 37c.

I would have given this product only 4 stars because of the poor installation instructions but I'm so darn happy with the performance that I have to give it 5 stars. The instructions say to set the fans to draw in cool air from outside the case but that can cause a rise in temps for your other chip sets I have mine set as exhaust. Make sure you have room for this because the radiator is twice as thick as the H50.

Product Description:
The Corsair Hydro Series H70 is the best choice for high performance CPU cooling. A worthy big brother to the already excellent Hydro Series H50, the H70 improves upon the design in every way. A low profile pump and improved cold plate allow for even easier mounting to your CPU. Compatibility with all modern AMD and Intel desktop CPU sockets is included in the box. A higher-performance radiator with nearly twice the surface provides even more room for liquid to get cool before it returns to the cold plate. And as if that weren't enough, the Hydro Series H70 comes with twin high-performance 120 mm fans, optimized for a push-pull configuration, to allow maximum airflow through the radiator. The Corsair Hydro Series H70 is the best choice for a high performance CPU cooler on the market, bar none.

Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME 5970 VGA Cooler Review

Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME 5970 VGA Cooler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Search
--------------------

My cards stock cooler recently died, leading me to believe my card was dead along with it.
After a bit of research I discovered that with the 5970 there were two methods of cooling that don't
involve using the stock cooler:

1. Watercooling, which is the most effective solution, but is also incredibly expensive, just
the waterblock for the 5970 costs nearly $200!

2. Arctic Cooling's 5970 cooler. This one is not as effective as watercooling, but
is obviously much more affordable.

After deciding to replace the stock cooler with the Accelero Xtreme (Xs for letters are so 1990!)
I was pleasantly surprised with how effective the cooling was, but even more so with how much quieter the cooler was.The Results
-----------------
All results were measured using GPU-Z
with a room temperature of 21c.

XFX 5970 stock settings.

-Average Temps at 38% fan speed: 38c-41c at idle.
-Noise level at 38% fan speed: small car motor.

-Average Temps at 50% fan speed: 60c-66c at high load.
-Noise level at 50% fan speed: Vacuum cleaner next to ear.Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME 5970 VGA Cooler
My fan always runs at 80%

-Average idle Temps: 28-31c
-Average load Temps: 56-60c
-Noise level at 80% fan speed: inaudible over my case fans. While the cooling performance at load isn't substantially lower than
the stock cooler, its the quieter performance that really makes me like
this cooler. Obviously without using proper tools my noise analysis is very
subjective, but the noise difference from the stock cooler is very substantial. Conclusion
---------------

While I still believe the cooler should be sold at closer to $50-60 instead of its current
price, I will say that if your looking to get cooler temps, and more importantly a quieter cooler
than you certainly can't go wrong with the Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME 5970 VGA Cooler.
Definitely recommended!
Bonus: Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME 5970 VGA Cooler Installation Guide!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I take no responsibility for any damage caused to your card by using this guide, I'm just going
to post how I successfully installed the cooler without damaging the card so others can get an idea
of how not to kill their DVI ports.*Step 1:

Remove the screws and the X-plates (2 X-shaped metal braces above cores) from your card.
Make sure to unscrew the X-plate in a diagonal pattern.

*Step 2:

Carefully sit the backplate and stock cooler aside, and turn the card over so you can see
the two cores, all the circuits and the memory chips.

*Step 3:

Following the included instructions, wipe any residual cooling paste off the cores, and place
the thermal pads on all the indicated memory chips and circuitry. Make sure to screw in the
included memory heatsink as indicated.

*Step 4:

Place the new cooler over the cores making sure to line it up properly. Flip the card over and
place the backplate back on.

*Step 5:

Carefully replace all the backplate screws.
Fully tighten all the screws except for the X-plate screws, do these last.

*Step 6:

Add both X-plate bracers back to their appropriate spots, and GENTLY screw in each screw in a diagonal
pattern being sure to only give each screw about 3-4 gentle twists, you only want these screws at about
50% of their original tightness DO NOT OVER-SCREW! If you over-screw your card will be damaged! This extra strain
is what is killing the DVI ports. At this point you should be finished, just be gentle when handling the card, and do not hold it just by the heatsink or backplate.

Hope this helps someone!

Zalman CPU Fan With 70mm Fan LED (CNPS9500 LED-CU) Review

Zalman CPU Fan With 70mm Fan LED
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cooler is the perfect way to keep your system quiet.I have a AMD FX2 CPU and I've had six different coolers/fans to try to keep my computer as quiet as possible.I recently purchased a high-end graphics card with passive (no fan) cooling and this made the situation worse because the CPU fan was having to pick up the slack and move more heat.

Zalman has a great reputation and I thought this fan might do the trick.

It did.

My system is whisper quiet, even when I tax the CPU heavily and the video card, -even at the same time.I never thought my computer could be so quiet.

Some things to keep in mind.

1) Take your time, read the instructions, and be careful of the fins, they're sharp.
2) Make sure you face the fan in the right direction, it's not in the logical direction you might think. In my case the fan is on the far side of the back of the case and you might think otherwise when you first look at it.
3) Instructions need to followed if your installation is going to work. It's a bit of a puzzle, especially if you only use the printed instructions.
4) I strongly recommend you USE THE ZALMAN WEB SITE for help with the installation.Go to their web site, find this cooler in their product list, and once you're at this product's web site you'll find an installation tab with a very, very good animated installation guide.
5) Be sure you select your correct CPU for instructions, the Intel and AMD instructions are VERY different (due to the way they mount to a motherboard).

Considering the cost, and the 30 minutes to install, I think this fan is worth the time and effort and cost.

An excellent product!

I found Arctic Cooling by accident. It was a discontinued product at 30% off. Amazingly, it works much better than many of the "good" fans!

Being annoyed by so many loud fans, I found AC PWM a bless. I ordered from Amazon as the local store doesn't have any left.

The PWM fan is supposed to work with the main CPU fan to provide synced cooling. No complain there.

However, the amount of air it moved is stlightly on the low side. It is still alot to move, just not enough comparing to some other fans. Well, other fans are not that quiet though!

The "loudness" rating of this fan leads me no where. Roughly I think it is less than 10dB.

Cheap, quiet, nice looking PWM fan is the choice for everybody!

Update:
I finally installed the covers I have for my project and they look great and finish things off very well.No problems on install, and the air flow is still pretty good.I would use these again as they protect your fingers, wires, and other things from the fan blades and the mesh screen helps in keeping even smaller things out.The most I would spend on them though would be $4 ... maybe.

I stumbled upon this item on accident. I was originally looking at the OCZ Vendetta II but decided to pick this up instead because it was $7 cheaper, excellent online reviews, and future-proof ability. Installation was a hastle because once more I had to remove motherboard from the CoolerMaster 690, but I enjoy the peace of mind with a well mounted hefty heatsink vs the push pins used by other heatsinks of the same proportions.
I have yet to take advantege of using dual 120mm fans, the factory fan seems to be suffice to keep my 3.75Ghz 1.36vcore e5200 consistant at 52C 24hrs on prime95. I cannot distinguish between the noise of this and the three other stock fans in my case except for my XFX9800GT's factory fan. I will recommend this to any enthusiast and even lable the product a "must have". I am looking forward to mounting this on a future planned socket 1366 or 1156. Have a good day.
