(More customer reviews)When you're hesitant to go to the expense of a cash register, this is a great calculator for a small retail business - which is exactly why I purchased it.The keys are large, paper roll insertion is easy and the automatic tax calculation key (TAX+) for sales is helpful.The Casio website is also helpful for tech support.I purchased this item used without a manual and needed to know how to set the tax rate.(It was preset to 5% and I needed to change it to 6.5%.)Within a day they emailed me back with step-by-step instructions.If you are also struggling to figure this out and can't find the info on the web (as I couldn't) here are the steps as they provided to me:

1.Set calculator to "print."
2.Press CA.
3.Press SET key for about 3 seconds.
4.Enter tax rate.
5.Press TAX+.
6.Press SET.

By the way, the SET key is the percent key.

(More customer reviews)This Sharp EL-1750P is a pretty great printing calculator for the price.I needed one for my new job and didn't want to spend a lot, so this is what I got.The only thing that I didn't like about this calculator is that to subract one number from another, you have to press the number, then the plus sign, then the other number, then the minus sign.I don't know if this is how all of these types of calculators are or not, since this is the only one like this that I have ever used... but pressing the addition symbol to subract seemed a little weird to me.I am used to it now, but I tend to get frustrated using a regular calculator at home that actually adds everything when you hit the addition sign!Other than that, I am satisfied with the 18.99 I spent on it.

The paper is a snap to load you don't even have to feed it in. Just drop the roll of papre in and close the lid. Thats it

Canon(R) P170-DH Printing Calculator Review

(More customer reviews)Canon P170-DH is a business adding machine with a luminescent display with bright blue digits. I bought it for the display, because it is easier to read than a regular LCD display with black digits with no lighting. This is not a scientfic calculator as described at some websites. P170-DH is a non-scientific business machine with add, subtract, multiply, divide, subtotal, grand total, cost-sell-margin, and percentages. It also does time-of-day subtraction to calculate hours worked, making it the only adding machine in this price range with that feature. The red-black-ribbon printer works fine, but it is not as fast as more expensive adding machines. All adding machines have the same buttons, so I suspect the printer speed is what determines the price. I hope you already know how to use an adding machine (not like a calculator); otherwise the one-sheet instruction paper will not be very helpful. Looking for more help, I downloaded the instructions for similar adding machines from Sharp and Casio. Turns out it is the very same single sheet of instructions. Apparently Canon, Casio, Sharp, all use the same internals for their adding machine, and they drop in the same instruction sheet.

Everything has been improved. Love the Calendar and Clock. And the Black color is great to have. Recommend it highly.

(More customer reviews)Turns out that shipping 26 lbs of paper in a thin cardboard box is somewhat problamatic. Ours arrived with the top busted off and the box taped back together by the shipping company. I assume this happened because the box was being handled individually and tossed from station to station by the shipping personnel and equipment. 26lbs of paper has a lot of momentum and that is a pretty thin cardboard box. So the top split open and spilled the contents. That box was meant to be shipped on a pallet not individually.The top 10-15% of paper was all dishuffled and wrinkled. We kept the box as I didn't want to hassle with returning it but I think I'll go back to picking up a case at the local Office[Depot/Max].The cost is about the same and I will get the paper intact.
