I plugged my Mini-DV camera in and it worked perfectly! Simple product, simple functionality. No complaints.

(More customer reviews)You can't beat this one for a firewire port.$20 for a name brand (startech) port that comes with a cable to hook to your camcorder (or other device) and editing software. Install was simple as it should be with a PCI card and Windows XP. Software is not bad at all...especially when you consider what you would pay if purchased separately. The card has 2 external ports and an internal port...which is handy for some...some computer cases have a front firewire port and with the right connecting cable, this internal port can be used to set-up a front firewire connection.

Bottom Line:It does what its supposed to, comes with a cable and software, most home computer certainly don't need more than 2 ports...perfect for the home user looking for great value
