(More customer reviews)I bought this a couple of weeks ago to mount 2 of the 24" SAMSUNG LCDs that I purchased.It works great, it easily accomodates side by side 24" monitors.

The only issue I had is that if your monitor's VESA mounts are in a recessed location like mine were (look at the back of the monitor, look for the 4 holes used to mount the screen), you will have to separately purchase a spacer for about $5.This information is not included in the instructions or product description, I had to email the customer service to find out what to do.This was annoying given the premium price of the product, but it now works flawlessly.

One other minor quibble is that the cable management provided includes those annoying zip ties.Kind of shabby for a high-end mount like this.I bought some velcro cable ties for $5 or so about a week later that do an infinitely better job.

I actually use this side by side mount and a separate mount for a 3rd monitor (the Ergotron dual stacking arm -- not using the 4th arm at the moment).The monitors are in the corner of the room, and have a clean look like they're floating in space when you walk in the room.Very sleek.

In summary, great product, but you may need to purchase a couple other accessories for a few bucks to get the most out of it.Would definitely buy again.

Mx Desk Mount LCD Arm Review

(More customer reviews)I'm already a huge fan of Ergotron products going back to when I used to design and install computer rooms and data centers.So, when the time came for me to buy something for my home office, I did shop a bit but always came back to Ergotron.Last year I purchased the LX Dual Desk Mount Arm to support a 22" Samsung monitor and my Apple MacBook Pro 15".This setup has been awesome, providing me with a dual-monitor feature that is really a time saver.

I want to provide some key information to anyone considering this device that I think will help you decide.

1)I purchased this arm concerned it may not support the weight of the Apple iMac 27" computer.The computer with the base weighs in at 30.5 lbs and without the base is ~27.5 lbs. so based on the math, I'm well within the weight range of the MX Arm spec.That being said, since I already knew how to adjust my LX Dual Arm setup, I found the MX to be identical in adjustment and fitment capability.

2)Ergotron sent a nice package of bolts, screws, desk-mount optional hardware and even a set of tools to make the adjustments.Setting it up was simple and getting attached was fairly straight forward.They provide a wing-nut to tighten the base to the desk but I recommend if you have a heavy monitor or computer like I do, go to a nearby hardware store and buy a nylon-insert nut (I forgot the specific size, just take the bolt with you) and use that to fasten it to the desk.Be sure not to over tighten it or you could potentially damage your furniture and the swing arm.

3)If your computer or monitor leans toward the high end of the scale with respect to the specification of this swing arm, be sure to pre-tighten the adjustment screws before you put weight on it.You'll find it much easier to do and, easier to adjust afterward.I should have I know but I didn't keep track of how many revolutions I made on the neck and head adjustments but suffice it to say it was more than 20 full revolutions.You'll get a sense for how the tension is but just be careful not to over tighten.

4)Make sure you've assembled everything according to the spec but also make sure you've installed your mounting bracket correctly so that you can just simply lay the monitor or the computer on the MX Arm and hand tighten the large plastic-headed screws to the 100x100 mounting plate.This will make life very easy.

Bottom line, I used the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for 24-inch/27-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display - Apple Part Number: MC434ZM/A -- this worked perfectly and was very well made.

This was a very straight forward and very effective solution for what I was trying to achieve.I'm now able to swing my Apple 27" iMac 180 degrees around on my desk, pivot it upward about 70 degrees and lower it if needed.It works very well, its very well made and I highly recommend this to anyone considering this sort of mount for your large iMac or Cinema displays!!!

(More customer reviews)I was probably one of the first few people to order this product after it was released last month.There are quite a few similar products out there but after extensive research, I chose the Ergotron because:
-It's more flexible, and has more "joints" than most other ones.
-Stainless steel and black look VERY sexy together, and will make any table top look more sleek.It also matches perfectly with my Dell monitor (see photos I posted).

After a few weeks of usage, here are my pros & cons:

PROS:
-Large freedom of movement in all 3 planes + rotation.Some other units have only 2 movable joints so raising it up would force it to move back as well, for example.This one has total freedom.
-Very strong and sturdy; I feel comfortable putting very heavy monitors on it.Moving the monitor around feels fluid and sturdy.
-Beautiful black & steel finish - it becomes a piece of eye-candy on your desk.
-Extremely Easy to install & uninstall.
-Definitely saves desk space.

CONS:
-Slight vibration if the table vibrates.When I shake my legs while sitting down, I can see the monitor itself vibrating as well.However it's very minimal and not too noticeable.
-The built in cable management system is lackluster.It's difficult to get cables completely hidden.But in my opinion this is a minor issue as black cables are not noticeable running along a black arm. (see posted photos).Also, I am using my own velcro cable-ties as the included plastic ties are worthless.

CONCLUSION: A very well designed, well thought-out product by Ergotron.It performs its intended function flawlessly and is pleasing on the eye to boost.Yes, there are some minor cons but they are insignificant compared to the pros.As a buyer who has done tons of research, I highly recommend this mount.
