(More customer reviews)I was surprised how heavy the box was when arrived. The LX dual has only solid metal load bearing parts, plastic only plays role as cable ties or aesthetic cover. It feels robust and reliable. The box had all the necessary tools to assemble and mount the monitors. For heavier over 20" LCD panels the spring in the arm will need to be adjusted, the adjustment tool is part of the package. I am amazed by the build quality and the value for the money, specially when I see more expensive products with plastic joints on the market.

(More customer reviews)It was the best looking LCD arm from my search on the internet, so I bought it and the real thing does not disappoint! This stand is excellent. It is easily adjustable and matches my brushed aluminum Apple Cinema Display very well.

The one thing I would mention is that the product shots on Amazon are a bit confusing. At least when I purchased it, some of the product shots showed an extra arm segment. After some research, I found the one with the extra segment is actually a different model. Be sure to compare to the manufacturers website to understand what you are getting. I did and I got exactly what I wanted from Amazon!

Lx Dual Stacking Arm Review

(More customer reviews)I installed this arm a few days ago and I'm very happy with it.I bought it to free up some desk space by holding a 23" monitor and an audio mixing console.The laptop stand attachment holds the mixing console perfectly.The arm is nicely engineered and very well built.Installation was pretty simple and straight forward.The unit is extremely easy to use and adjust tension to hold different weights.

I'm amazed at all the different ways I can lay out my equipment now, and I can also get it completely out of the way to free up desk space for other uses.I viewed the expense as an investment in freeing up desk real estate.This stand has saved me from needing to buy another desk.That alone is well worth the price.

(More customer reviews)I love this arm!I've had it just a few days.But I can't imagine living without it now!This thing is STURDY!To my mind the design is beautiful.And it does exactly exactly what you need, which is to have a monitor which can be raised or lowered, brought closer or pushed into the background, and turned every which way (including sideways!).I bought it to go with my new Mac Mini, Apple Mac Mini MC270LL/A Desktop, and a lovely monitor, ViewSonic's VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch (21.5-Inch Vis) Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED Monitor with Integrated Stereo Speakers, which would have been very stationary, not flexible.

It is so easy to assemble this arm, which comes beautifully packaged in a small box (in three large pieces, with everything you need to assemble it in several different ways - including tools, with the exception of a Phillips screwdriver).I'm a 65 year old female and had no trouble following the pictures to assemble it.I will admit though, that its weight is so heavy once it's assembled, that I did get some help holding it, while I attached it to my table.(That's not a negative, but you might want another person around when you're attaching it to the table.)By the way, it provides a variety of ways to attach as well.All pictured in the directions that come with it.This is one flexible and brilliant piece of equipment!

If you're looking for something which may last longer than you will, which is easy to assemble, very sturdy, and enables you to have almost infinite control over how you place your monitor, this is what you've been looking for!It's a small price to pay when you consider how long it will last.It was delivered quickly by Amazon.

(More customer reviews)I actually have two of these "monitor" arms.I use them for my laptop (used in two different places).I use it to free up desktop space and put the laptop screen at a better viewing height (ergonomics: but this does require external keyboard and mouse). I had some difficulty finding a second one of these when I decided to buy it a few months ago.

It does the job beautifully.Since it is designed (originally) for a very heavy CRT monitor (does anyone still use these?) it gives me a lot of security for my laptop. My one "wish list" item is that the arm itself could be adjusted for height. But, I'm satisfied with it as it is.

If you want to save desktop space and improve your laptop ergonomics (and you already have the desire for an external keyboard and mouse) this is a very "solid" purchase.

(More customer reviews)The quality is way better than what I expected, and it's holding my monitors very securly.I like the added flexability of being able to go from portrait to landscape very easily and setup was a breeze.

Regarding the other review about it being too loose.I actually had the opposite problem.Mine was too tight.

But not a big deal (and shouldn't be a big deal for the guy that complained about i being too loose).You can actually adjust the tightness for all of the joints.Just pop off the plastic covering of the joint and you will see some bolts.Grab a wrench and tighten away (or loosen in my case).

Love it.It's great.

Mx Desk Mount LCD Arm Review

(More customer reviews)I'm already a huge fan of Ergotron products going back to when I used to design and install computer rooms and data centers.So, when the time came for me to buy something for my home office, I did shop a bit but always came back to Ergotron.Last year I purchased the LX Dual Desk Mount Arm to support a 22" Samsung monitor and my Apple MacBook Pro 15".This setup has been awesome, providing me with a dual-monitor feature that is really a time saver.

I want to provide some key information to anyone considering this device that I think will help you decide.

1)I purchased this arm concerned it may not support the weight of the Apple iMac 27" computer.The computer with the base weighs in at 30.5 lbs and without the base is ~27.5 lbs. so based on the math, I'm well within the weight range of the MX Arm spec.That being said, since I already knew how to adjust my LX Dual Arm setup, I found the MX to be identical in adjustment and fitment capability.

2)Ergotron sent a nice package of bolts, screws, desk-mount optional hardware and even a set of tools to make the adjustments.Setting it up was simple and getting attached was fairly straight forward.They provide a wing-nut to tighten the base to the desk but I recommend if you have a heavy monitor or computer like I do, go to a nearby hardware store and buy a nylon-insert nut (I forgot the specific size, just take the bolt with you) and use that to fasten it to the desk.Be sure not to over tighten it or you could potentially damage your furniture and the swing arm.

3)If your computer or monitor leans toward the high end of the scale with respect to the specification of this swing arm, be sure to pre-tighten the adjustment screws before you put weight on it.You'll find it much easier to do and, easier to adjust afterward.I should have I know but I didn't keep track of how many revolutions I made on the neck and head adjustments but suffice it to say it was more than 20 full revolutions.You'll get a sense for how the tension is but just be careful not to over tighten.

4)Make sure you've assembled everything according to the spec but also make sure you've installed your mounting bracket correctly so that you can just simply lay the monitor or the computer on the MX Arm and hand tighten the large plastic-headed screws to the 100x100 mounting plate.This will make life very easy.

Bottom line, I used the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for 24-inch/27-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display - Apple Part Number: MC434ZM/A -- this worked perfectly and was very well made.

This was a very straight forward and very effective solution for what I was trying to achieve.I'm now able to swing my Apple 27" iMac 180 degrees around on my desk, pivot it upward about 70 degrees and lower it if needed.It works very well, its very well made and I highly recommend this to anyone considering this sort of mount for your large iMac or Cinema displays!!!

Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm 45-241-026 Review

(More customer reviews)I was probably one of the first few people to order this product after it was released last month.There are quite a few similar products out there but after extensive research, I chose the Ergotron because:
-It's more flexible, and has more "joints" than most other ones.
-Stainless steel and black look VERY sexy together, and will make any table top look more sleek.It also matches perfectly with my Dell monitor (see photos I posted).

After a few weeks of usage, here are my pros & cons:

PROS:
-Large freedom of movement in all 3 planes + rotation.Some other units have only 2 movable joints so raising it up would force it to move back as well, for example.This one has total freedom.
-Very strong and sturdy; I feel comfortable putting very heavy monitors on it.Moving the monitor around feels fluid and sturdy.
-Beautiful black & steel finish - it becomes a piece of eye-candy on your desk.
-Extremely Easy to install & uninstall.
-Definitely saves desk space.

CONS:
-Slight vibration if the table vibrates.When I shake my legs while sitting down, I can see the monitor itself vibrating as well.However it's very minimal and not too noticeable.
-The built in cable management system is lackluster.It's difficult to get cables completely hidden.But in my opinion this is a minor issue as black cables are not noticeable running along a black arm. (see posted photos).Also, I am using my own velcro cable-ties as the included plastic ties are worthless.

CONCLUSION: A very well designed, well thought-out product by Ergotron.It performs its intended function flawlessly and is pleasing on the eye to boost.Yes, there are some minor cons but they are insignificant compared to the pros.As a buyer who has done tons of research, I highly recommend this mount.

(More customer reviews)The Neo-flex stand might seem pricey to some, but this is a case of getting what you pay for as it is well worth the money.This stand is versatile: You can remove the extension to shorten it and it comes with parts for either a surface edge or grommet mount. The machined aluminum parts and overall aesthetic of this LCD panel VESA mount are beautiful -- and made to last. The directions have no text, but surprisingly the drawings are so well done that I understood every step of the disassembly and reassembly process (I only did this because I shortened it and then changed my mind later: It comes packaged with the extension and surface edge mount version installed and ready to go). Every joint either pans, swivels or tilts. Nothing but praise for this item (my only minor complaint is that there are no spare parts included, so don't lose any unpacking).
