The MS20's have more options for connection and are more versatile speakers and sound much better to me. My computer is my stereo and I cannot find any fault with these speakers. For the price there is nothing on the market to compare ($100 includes shipping). If you listen to music on your computer you will be THRILLED with the audio reproduction capabilities of these speakers. The MS20'shave plenty of volume. They play analogue as well as digital signals.These are large for computer speakers: 9.5" x 6" x 7.4" and weight just under 13 Lbs combined. The MS20's are rock solid speakers sure to satisfy even the most discriminating listener.

(More customer reviews)I bought my first system for $24 shipped about a year ago to replace my dead KLH stereo system that I had been using for my PC sound.I had high hopes, but was prepared for mediocrity.It took all of 3 minutes to put the system together and fire up my first song from my PC.I chose 'Blue Monday' by New Order, because it is very complex, with lots of odd percussion from all directions and a strong backbeat and lots of synthesizers (OK-I'm a child of the 80s!)It absolutely blew my mind.I use WinAmp to play my mp3s on the PC, so I went to its equalizer and tweaked it a bit and played the song again and, my God, it sounded even better.I've played almost every type of music, and movies, music vids and my own experimental creations and find it to be beyond my wildest dreams for a system costing less than hundreds of dollars. And it is so compact that you can pack it up and take it with you in a minute.I bought another one the next time a deal came up, either to use as a back-up, or a gift to a very, very lucky friend, indeed!!!!!
If you can, tweak that equalizer- it can be amazing!!!

We got them home and I was surprised at how fast and easy it was to intall them.They were up and working in a matter of minutes.I have only a few songs in my iTunes, so I opened it and played the first one on the list, "Soul Food to Go" by Manhattan Transfer.Wow!Our entire office was filled with the deep, rich sounds of MT jazz.The sub woofer is wonderful, and is small and unobtrusive fitting nicely under our desk.The speakers are so small and low profile that they take up little room on your desk.

I'm really into sound quality, but also possess the ability to differentiate between my many thousand dollar home theater system and a $30 computer setup.
The bass is surprisingly powerful, and more than adequate.The sub vibrates the windows in my office when pushed and with a bass control right on the enclosure you can dial the level to your comfort.The two speakers are bright but who cares, it was $30.For this amount of money I just think the negative reviewers are overly harsh and quite unrealistic.My old speakers were the same size as the satellites in this set and 1/10th as good.
If you're complaining about the sound quality of a $30 system this well done you are grossly out of touch.No review of a $30 system should include reviews of mid-range accuracy, sub-sonic cut offs, or any such audiophile speak.Spend the nerding time a bit more wisely. Did I mention they're $30?

(More customer reviews)I live in a rural area on the top of a mountain. Electrical Service, unfortunately, is frequently interupted, usually for a few seconds only. But when it is, it can happen at very inconvenient times. Additionally, power surges, while not frequent, do happen, particularly during electrical storms. This means that my electronic equipment needs to be protected. I have 2 desktop computers in my home, both in constant use and both need a 24 hour internet connection.

I use a total of 3 Cyberpower UPS devices, along with additional Surge Protecters to protect my computers and other electronic appliances (including Televisions, DVRs, etc.). While neighbors have experienced major problems, the only problem I have experienced is a blown Surge Protecter (which obviously did it's job).

The model UPS shown has surge protection of (I believe)a bit over 1000 joules. This should usually be enough, but I use additional protection (rated 4200 joules) because of the location of my home. For most of you, the protection offered by this UPS will be sufficient.

Sony ECMMS907 Digital Recording Microphone Review

(More customer reviews)I have used the ECMMS907 to fill about 150 mini discs since I bought it three years ago. It runs lovingly on one AA battery (unlike it's watch-battery-dependent predecessor) and allows for two polor patterns 180 and 90 degrees. The casing of the unit is rugged. It includes wind screen,travel pouch, stand clip, and four foot cloth encased cable. I have been able to record everything from street musicians to Dave Bruebeck concerts.

In pro audio it isn't considerd cool to like Sony gear as it often uses digital tricks to achieve a bogus sense of higher fidelity,but Sony electronics are bulletproof and work exactly as designed until you lose them or back them over with your car.That said...

Lots of people I have spoken with purchased this microphone thinking they could jack into the 1/8" input on thier laptop computer and get desirable results.This might work if your microphone is inches away from a blaring guitar amp, but won't do well with amient recordings or speaking as the output gain is far too low. Most people are not happy in this situation.

Overall, worth every penny.Perhaps there is a modification out there to improve the output gain.

Sony Srsd21X 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these off a friend for $20 to use on my laptop computer.
At first I was a little disapointed by the lack of power (the satellite speakers are just 2 watts each, the subwoofer is 20 watts), but after listening to them for several months, I am pleased to say that despite being somewhat low-powered, they sound pretty good.

These are 2.1 type speakers so there's two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The two satellite speakers have just a single driver that's 2.5 inches in diameter (about the norm for PC speakers), and a subwoofer totally encased in a box. It's interesting that the subwoofer is front-firing, but totally enclosed, which is unlike most subwoofers on PC speakers (or regular speaker systems). Even the lower-end and high-end models like the Klipsch ProMedia X2.1's and the Holy-Grail of 2.1 PC speakers, the Logitech Z-2300's have either rear-firing or downward-firing subwoofers, and I feel these give better bass response, intensity, and quality.

Why Sony chose this configuration is beyond me. It causes a bit of distortion in the lower ranges, and the bass isn't as crisp and not as pronounced or powerful as some other speakers. You can help this out by moving the speaker outlet away from you, but it's still somewhat muffled unless you crank the volume up. This could also be helped by the addition of a bass and treble adjustment, but nothing is adjustible on these speakers (except the volume).

The mid-ranges and highs are good and come out clean and chrisp, but there is room for improvement in the sound quality for speakers costing $50+. I listen to a lot of music on my computer, so that's mostly what I use these for. For music, these are just fine, even if there is room for improvement. I have watched some movies with them, and was disappointed in the sound quality. I compared these side-by-side with some $20 speakers made by Accent Acoustics, and as far as I could tell, there's not much difference between the two. The Accent speakers had less wattage (15), but the bass sounded more pronounced, powerful, and chrisp, probably because they had adjustable trebel and bass.

The price is an issue. It's not for me, because I got these for $20, but I'd have never paid full-price for them when there's better models out there for about the same price as these.

The good: Sony quality, good mid-range and upper range response and clarity, 3.5mm headphone jack, easy connectivity (the speakers can unplug from the subwoofer).

The bad: Weird front-firing fully enclosed subwoofer design, muffled and distorted bass; weak bass response for 22 watts, fragile speaker bases, no remote, and no adjustments for the bass or trebel.

Overall, if you are looking for a set of 2.1 type PC speakers, look elsewhere. You can find a comparable or better set for cheaper, or a really nice set (like Logitech's Z-4i's or X-240's) for about the same price as these.
