(More customer reviews)This is a nice, little device that I bought from CompUSA. There are three things that I like about this unit:

1. The device is comfortable to use. It is neither too short nor too long for the hand. It fits my hand just right.

2. It has a retractable cord, and the USB connector can be stored underneath the unit (making for no loose, dangling wires). This is a convienent feature when I store it away between uses.

3. It doesn't need a battery, as it is a USB powered device. That means I never have to worry about it running out of power just when I need it the most.

I'm very satisfied with this product, and I would recomment it for the above reasons.

(More customer reviews)I picked this out for a replacement of a much older device that was similar to this one and I'm quite pleased with it!

It has all the software contained within the device so no need to have a driver disk installed into each computer, just plug it in and Win XP will take care of the setup for you. It's so simple it's ridiculous.

Pros:
Plug and play: plug it in and let it do it's thing!
Simple software that anyone with a 1/10 of a brain can figure out
has a nice long cable between the connections
comes with a carry pouch
comes with a velcro strap to keep the cable tidy

Cons:
The head of the main head on this unit of the device is kind of large so you may need to unplug other USB devices to fit this into the USB port. For some computers you may need to plug it into the back of the computer due to the size fact that some USB ports are set into the devices too far and this will be hard to get into there.

The price isn't bad but could always be better, I rather like this though and it will go in my laptop bag for when I need to get at large files or give large files when I'm out and about. No need to transfer to a disk, USB flash drive, or hook into the other persons network anymore. just plug into their USB port and be done with it.

(just a note on the speed of this device, limited by your system)
This device is limited not only by the processors involved but the hard drive speed capabilities. If your HDD is just a basic 7200 RPM drive it's likely that's it's not going to be able to read or write faster than 100-125MbPS. So you only get the benefit of high speed transfers if you are running a couple of these drives in RAID or running a high speed drive. So you should take those ideas into consideration when you are trying to run at high speeds.

It's the size of a credit card, and weights only 2.5 oz (71 grams.)

Things I noticed:

- I simply plugged it into the USB port; Windows found it and it worked instantly and flawlessly!

- The wheel has good grip on it (unlike my last Targus mouse.)

- When it is just sitting there, the 7 colours fade in and out.Now, I was thinking this would be distracting and too bright, but I found that they are actually soft and subtle.It so "Mac" (I have no other way to describe it.)

- In the design traditon of the new Mac products, this mouse is a nice steel grey with a very slick, polished surface that feels nice.The buttons are nice, too.

- The sensitivity seems to be higher/better than my previous mouse.But, I would rather have to turn down the sensitivity than have to turn it up (only to find it's at the max already.)

- As the colours rotate through, they stop rotating when you use the mouse, and resume when you stop.

- The retractable cord-thing WORKS!And quite well.I was worried about it when I purchased it, but I now think it's one of the best features.

If you are looking for a travel mouse, or one that will make other coworkers jealous, this mouse is for you.
