(More customer reviews)First of all let me say that overall this case is well built with quite cooling fans and an acceptable depth (about 14 3/16 without rear cables - right angle cables best choice for tight fit) for many home theater cabinets.

One issue of some concern is the position of the hard drives and power supply. With two hard drives installed, one WD Raptor 10,000 RPM 36GB for the operating system and another Seagate 7200 RPM 1TB for music and movies, the hard drive cage and drives appear to get hotter to the touch than I would like. There is no room for hard drive cooling with both drives installed. My solution will be to remove the 36GB Raptor and install a quite hard drive cooler which will take up the space of the second hard drive.

A second issue is the CPU cooler. I purchased a quite low profile Zalman but it was too high with the CD/DVD drive holder installed. I then purchased the fanless CPU cooler from SilverStone thinking they would have one that fits properly. By the way I have a BioStar TA790GX XE and an AMD 5050e 45 watt processor so heat is less of a factor. If you contact SilverStone they will tell you the cooling capabilities with regard to acceptable processors. Anyway, the SilverStone CPU cooler works fine but partially blocks the Slot for a video card. If I decide to utilize the Hybrid CrossFire in the future some of the cooler fins will need to be removed. Because this cooler can handle a 65 watt or greater processors this may not be an issue. Some investigation will be necessary.

(More customer reviews)Well, I have been wanting to replace my old worn out desktop, and home made NAS unit with an updated system that I can use to work with my Home Theater, as well as a family system to browse the internet, kids can do homework on etc. There arn't much out there for people that like a desktop platform. Everything is towers, mid towers etc. I ran across this case, and I am pleased for the most part. The only issue I have, is that I did have to do some modifying on it to work with my chosen mother board. I wanted a system that I could also do some gaming on, but not really a power gamer. I got a board that could use core 2, as well as quad core in case I wanted more power later. This case claims to support full ATX boards, which it does hold, but the included power supply does not provide an 8 pin CPU power connector. All it has is a 4 pin CPU connector. I used it on my core 2 duo, and it does work fine, but noticed in the Bios that only one of the cores were powered and working. This was, I assumed because only one rail was getting power due to the 4 pin connector instead of the correct 8 pin. I guess if I wanted to run like that, it would have done fine, but I bought a core 2 duo, so wanted the full core 2 duo power. I opted on an PCI-E NVedia graphics card that fortunatly does not require additional power, and noticed that the power supply does provide a 6 pin PCI-E connector. Hmm.. I didn't need that for my graphics adapter, and found that it had 3 12V leads, and 3 Gnd leads. My processor power needed two more 12V and 2 more gnds, to run the 2nd rail, so I just got an 8 pin Molex connector, cut the 4 pin CPU connector off, and used the power from it to power one rail. Cut off the PCI-E 6 pin connector and used 2 of those 12V and 2 of the grounds to finish the power for the CPUs in the new 8 Pin Molex connector. Guess what? Now, my power supply has an 8 pin CPU power, and the bios now shows both rails powered up and operating. Yeeppii.. But, the fact that I had to void warrantees, and have some soldering skills as well as computer hardware skills to use the box like I wanted to. If you are not comfortable with doing that, then you would need to purchase a new power supply that does have the proper connections to replace the one that comes with this case. But, other than that, I do really like this case. It looks good, and will look good with my home theater components, it has nice cooling, even tho I added a 120mm additional fan in mine. The case has provisions to add up to two additional 120mm fans. Kinda cramped in there, but, that is the trade off for something not as large as a full tower. It has provisions for 2 3.5" drives. I put a 1TB, and a 500GB drive, but if you plan to have a 3.5" floppy in it, that will take one of those spaces. I opted not to use a floppy drive. It has two full bays for CD Rom, or full sized drives, or adapters to put another 3.5" drive in that spot. By the way, another cool feature, is, if you choose not to use one, or two of the additional fan locations, it has holes there also where you can mount additional drives. That was nice I think..

Anyway, this is a nice case, for a reasonable price. I would recommend it with that CPU power connector situation in mind.

(More customer reviews)I bought this case in a brick & mortar but figured since there was no review here I would add my thoughts.I started out with a HP m7680n Media Center PC with XP on it, then moved to Vista, then to Win 7, then a new PSU, video card, and this case, and ultimately a new mainboard and peripherals.So now I have an entirely new computer (except for a Wireless-G card, modem and DVD Drive) and its the greatest PC I've ever built.All with this great case.

That's not to say it doesn't have it's weaknesses, but overall I'm very happy with it.I now have an Asus P5Q PRO Turbo Motherboard, Core 2 Duo E6400 overclocked to 2.9 GHz, 6GB DDR2 RAM, 768MB GeForce 9600GSO overclocked, 750W Antec Power Supply, Corsair Quad Pipe dual fan CPU Cooler, 3TB HD Storage with a separate 500GB RAID 1 Array for the OS, and 3 120mm, 1 80mm, 1 60mm PCI Video Card Fan.I admit that the see-through plastic side panel is a little weak, it has never come apart on me.The attachemnts aren't the greatest, but it's only a small issue.

The case uses tool-less brackets and attachments for the hard disks, pci cards, cd/dvd drives, and of course the main side-panel.I've pushed this rig pretty far, but I'm not a gamer so I didn't go too crazy.I could if I wanted to though.Right now my M-board is 24*C and CPU is at 33*C.I do have a corsair dual fan CPU cooler, but either way the case runs very cool.I have 3 hard disks installed and the case allows you to put a fan directly in front of them.With (4) 5.25" bays and (7) 3.5" bays you have quite a bit of space for any storage/media combination you can think of.

One thing to remember is that this is a big case.. a full ATX. But if that's what you're looking for then this is the one for you.I only have a half-inch between the end of my CPU cooler and the side panel, and my video card is so big it blocks access to one of the 3.5" bays.In any case it looks good and performs even better, so if you can spare the loot, I say go for it!!

Antec Mini ITX Case ISK300-65 Review

(More customer reviews)I've built many of my own computers systems over the years so I was excited to assemble my first Mini-ITX based system. The whole point of Mini-ITX is size so the Antec ISK-300 case caught my eye right away. After comparing a few others (Apex, Lian Li & Cooler Master) the Antec case was my choice.

The case arrived before I ordered any of my other components so there was plenty of time to inspect it. First, this thing is heavy duty with a slightly thicker metal than most of the cases I've purchased in the past. Heavy is fine with me, how often do you tote your computer around anyway? The finish is very well done and it came with everything required to do a quality build, right down to zip ties and the tiny securement screw for a slim CD/DVD. Including all of the right components ranks high in my book.

The interior layout is my only complaint. Antec could have done a better job when they designed the power distribution board. The layout and placement of that single board is responsible for the extended length of the case. Antec chose to place this board flat on the bottom of the case meaning your Mini-ITX is essentially extended in length to accommodate two circuit boards. Kinda dumb in my opinion. The CD/DVD door design is the only 'cheap-out' on this case, like other reviewers I think it could have been done better.

The only other complaint is that the I/O section of my Zotac board didn't fit against the trim plate very tight. This may be a Zotac problem, but either way it's a perturbing little gap that looks like an amateur build. I did plenty of head-scratching with this problem and there's no way to adjust it better. Gaps like this equal air/dust infiltration and improper air flow and it just annoys me to no end. It's a very small gap but it just shouldn't be there.

After completion, the case seems to cool well. The three speed case fan does a good job but I might need to find a better fan if I try to overclock the board. It's refreshingly quiet, small and made for a nice build. I'd rank it an 8.5 out of 10.

Summary: The Antec ISK300 is solid, simple and well supplied with a rich black finish, a little better interior layout could improve the design but this is a great 'little' case for the price.

Slimline Micro Pc Case 350PS Review

(More customer reviews)Prior to this I've only built one PC from scratch. This time I wanted something smaller than the mini-tower I previously used. I also wanted something quiet.

This unit is shiny, and it's hard to discern in the photos the colors. This (or at least mine) has a dull silver front surrounded by a chromed-plastic bezel and a glossy piano-black case.

There is no doubt that the interior is cramped when installing items, but that's to be expected in a case this size.

There is a very small misalignment between the DVD/CD player and the front, which I've seen mentioned in other reviews. This is very minor, and while I was initially annoyed when building the PC, in use I just don't notice it.

I do wish the case had a firewire port in the front for transferring movies from our camcorder to the PC. There's a port in the back though, and the inconvenience is minor.

The case and power supply fans are really pretty quiet. Of course, this is all relative to what one individual believes quiet is. Each will have their own opinion. All I can say is that with the unit sitting on the floor next to me (I use the stands and have it vertical), I really can't hear it over the ambient noise in the house. I have the included case fan set to low (it has a little switch for low, med and hi), which seems to provide more than adequate cooling. In the future I may purchase a different fan with a speed sensor and connect it to the motherboard to take advantage of some automatic fan settings.

I thought I had a defective DVD player for a bit since the unit sounded like a jet preparing for takeoff when the player would spin-up. It turns out that moving the mounting feet (only used when mounting the case vertically) around greatly affect the vibration of the case. Just by spreading the feet out a bit the whole thing has quieted down nicely. To make it any better I'll have to open the case back up and put some felt pads or something between some of the sheet metal items. As-is though, I'm fine with it.

Overall, I like this case and would definitely purchase it again.

For reference, here's what I've used, and after a month seems to work excellently:

-Motherboard: Asus M3A78-EM.
-Ram: Kingston KHX6400D2/2GR (x2 for 4GB- can buy 2 more to upgrade someday, which will then max out the motherboard at 8GB).
-CPU: AMD ADV60000DOBOX Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz Socket AM2 Dual-Core processor.
-DVD: ASUS DRW-20B1LT 20X DVD

Antec NSK4480B ATX Mini Tower PC Case (Black) Review

The finish on the case is flawless, and came nicely protected by well engineered packaging.

The Power supply is just about silent and equipped with 4 SATA power connectors so you don't have to use adapters if you are mounting SATA hardware. The length of the internal power lines are good too. They will reach anywhere in the case. I cannot say enough about the low noise aspect of the psu. It also has a high effeciency rating. You can even go to the Antec website to calculate the size of the psu you will need based on your hardware requirements.

The 120 mm case fan is also silent and keeps my micro ATX motherboard nice and cool. The case came with pre-marked motherboard mounting holes and enough brass stand-offs for any installation.

The only thing keeping this from being a 5 Star review is that I had to alter the Power LED connector to make it work with a conventional motherboard. For some reason, the LED connector occupies 3 pins on the Panel 1 spot on the motherboard, and almost every one I have seen only wants to give it 2. The fix is pretty easy. Just take an x-acto knife and release the barb pressure on the lead in the connector and re-arrange them until you get the configuration you need.

Overall a fantastic product at a fantastic price and with free shipping you don't add $20 to the cost by ordering online.

Pros:
- Air Flow!! I have 10 X 120mm fans @ 79CFM (5 pulling - 5 pushing)- No Overheating
- Work Space - Nothing is cramped - Well thought out design. Easy to assemble.
- Quality Parts - no sharp edges
- Great cable management - cables can easily be hidden.
- Looks very professional.
Cons:
- Don't think this is going to be a quick assembly. It is easy but took me 8 hours to get everything the way I wanted it. Would not make a good first case.
- The cables that it come with are useless. You need 36" everything (SATA II, PATA, and Floppy cables)
- Doors are a little flimsy, but after I finished building, I wont use them much. They are plastic and do not come all the way off, so you have to deal with them while you are building. They have to be snapped shut top and bottom (can't close it like a frigerator door)

In summary this is a VERY expandable case and I would buy again in a heartbeat.

(More customer reviews)The Nemesis case is a great case, I have four of them (My two and one each for my kids) Although I do not use the top display feature (I have my towers under desk) it is a handy feature to keep an eye on your system.

There is plenty of room for all my stuff and the 'screw-less' design is very simple to use and holds well.

The only CON I have - I drilled out the 'holders' for the side window fan as it is difficult to get clean and replaced with fan screws for easier removal and cleaning.

Antec 380 Watt M-ATX Desktop Case NSK1380 (Black/Silver) Review

(More customer reviews)This was my first build for a HTPC to put in my media cabinet. I decided on this case mostly because it was the only decent sounding (review-wise) case that would fit into my media cabinet. The build itself was such a pain (literally) starting with trying to put the clip-in motherboard standoffs in. The very first one sliced under my fingernail drawing blood. Once I got the mobo in the very first thing I noticed was that the cables come out underneath the PSU and connecting the ATX power made all the very short cables rest right on top of the NB heatsink. The only way to route the cables was to buy a 10" power extension and molex to 2x ATA adapter. This mess blocks the PCI-e slot and one HDD space. The OD screw holes don't all line up with the drive cage holes on two drives I tried. Once built it's now working like a charm but it's not at all attractive (too much plastic) and looks out of place in my A/V cabinet. To do it over again I'd choose different. It works for now.

Now I'd skip the whole HTPC self-build and get a Dell Zino HD but they didn't have those when I did this.Or, I'd look at mini-ITX and a ION board/build.

Pros:
- Silent
- Well made panels
- Fits in small spaces
- Stays cool with very creative cable routing
- Works

Cons:
- Clip-in motherboard standoffs difficult to put in and very sharp
- Cabling comes out bottom of power supply and with the GA-MA78GM-US2H mobo rests right on the NB heatsink
- Cables much too short - had to buy extension/adapters
- Power LED way too bright
- Difficult to install OD and HDD
- Poor fit and finish - not all screw holes align with OD screw holes for any drive I tried (3 of 8 max)
- Difficult to get top back on
- Not very attractive looking - too much plastic on the outside and it looks that way
- Doesn't look like it fits in with other A/V equipment
- Included internal fan takes up PCI slot and stays on even when the system is shut down.
- OD drive shield is flimsy and button doesn't reach OD button - I just ended up removing it
- No HDD LED (is it working or is it hung?)
- Not sure how I'll ever get a graphics card in here because of the aforementioned cabling issues but with the 780G chipset on my mobo I haven't found the need
- Expensive for so much plastic facade (the price hasn't dropped at all!)

(More customer reviews)I've built maybe eight or nine PCs over the years, and previously favored Addtronics full or server tower cases.I like lots of room in a case so it's easy to work in, there's room for anything I might ever want to add, and there's plenty of space for good air flow.I thought those were excellent cases, but moving up to the ATCS 840 is like jumping from a 1939 pickup truck to a late model luxury SUV.Every detail of the layout and construction of this case demonstrates superb engineering.The immense 230mm fans move a ton of air, but do it while spinning far more slowly than smaller fans have to.That means little noise, and what there is is much lower pitched and unobtrusive.Just one of the engineering details is nice, easily removable, easy to clean filters for each intake fan.I could go on and on, but you can find a number of extensive reviews with large numbers of closeup photos online.Just Google for "ATCS 840 review".All the sites catering to serious builders and overclockers have reviews of this case, simply because it's one of the best to come along in quite a while.The only other brand with build quality to match this case would be Lian Li, and you should see what some of those cost.One last comment: if you're an adult who doesn't want a case that looks like it was designed to appeal to 14 year-olds, you will appreciate the clean elegant style of this case.I can tell you that it looks even better in the flesh than it does in the photos.

(More customer reviews)I am putting together a machine with the MSI Big Bang XPower MoBo with an i7 930 CPU, and will have a GTX 470 GPU, with 7 HDD's in various raid configs and a Corsair HX850 PSU.This case is so well thought out. So far no negatives except it is very big, which is actually good, as long as you understand this before you buy.

Cable mgmt is excellent, USB 3.0 on the front as well as Esata and 1394 and USB 2.0, covered on/off switch (reset too).

Wheels are included. Air filters on all openings - except for some reason not on the bottom in front of the PSU. All tool-less drive bays, 2 hot swap drive bays in front (amazingly these are not tool-less..wtf were they thinking?).

It includes 3, 200 mm fans (top - out, front - in, side - in, and one 120 mm on the rear out.It also has a place for a second (optional) 200 mm fan on the top.

So far it has been a pleasure to work with.I will update this as the build progresses.

update - the only thing marginal are the hot swap drawers. they require screws to hold the drives in (the included thumbscrews work at least) so it not terrible, but it would have been cool to have a method to yank drives in and out with no real effort at all.still 5 stars

Antec P193 Advanced Super Mid Tower Shell Case Review

(More customer reviews)My number one criterion in a case is that it's very quiet, and this one fits the bill. That huge fan on the side draws lots of air, but it's almost silent. The hard drive mounting system is simple, but very effective at isolating vibration from each drive, eliminating another annoying source of noise. Finally, the double thick walls of the case reduce any residual noises even further. Compared to my old cases, I have to look at the light on this one to know for sure that it's on.
The case is large and heavy. I put it on a stand next to a desk, not on the desk. It's a pain in the back to move, but it's a price I'm very willing to pay for all the advantages of this case.
There is ample room to work.The motherboard, drives, and power supply all feel like they have their own separate neighborhoods. Nothing gets in the way of anything else. The power supply mounts on the bottom, so make sure you use a power supply with long cables. I use a Corsair with detachable cables. The CPU cables are long enough to route outside the main compartment of the case through a hole for that purpose, and back through a couple of very thoughtfully placed holes near the areas on the motherboard they plug into. That makes for a very clean looking install. There is enough room for those thick cables between the case and the back cover. I route the fan power supply wires back there too so they don't get in the way. There are even tie-down straps back there to keep all the cables in place.
The finish is very good on this case. Everything fits well and feels solid. There is nothing flimsy here.
I hate bloodying my fingers on sharp edges. I haven't found any on this case. All of the openings and edges that I've encountered are nicely rounded, keeping cables and my fingers in good shape.
I've seen better mounting systems for removable media drives. These have tabs on each side on the front, so it doesn't look the most finished, but they do work well, are quick to disconnect, and are hidden most of the time behind the front door, so I can't complain much.
I like a variety of drives; CD/DVD, floppy, card reader, and lots of drives for RAID. But I haven't yet filled all the bays of one of these cases.
I use Zalman 120mm 2 ball coolers, which stand quite tall above the motherboard, but there is still plenty of clearance in this case.
I like this case so much, I own three now. I just completed two builds, and I've got one in reserve, just in case it's discontinued. I've got a pile of other cases I've used in the past. All have memorable shortcomings causing many frustrations. I have no significant complaints about this case.
