(More customer reviews)I just bought a Macbook Pro 17" and I work on it all day and it gets extremely hot, I really wanted to find the right solution for my need, which is something that will help reduce the overheating of my computer, be portable, and not have to buy an additional keyboard.I was really leaning towards the iCurve, which looks great and will actually raise my screen up, but the fact I can't really take it anywhere and also needing an additonal keyboard, took it out of running.I looked into others, but really, I think K.I.S.S.(Keep It Simple Stupid) was the main reason I bought this. My computer is still warm, but I can tell this product is helping my computer from overheating by lifting it off the desk.Only thing I think that doesn't work well with Macbooks are the fact the CD/DVD Slot gets cover so if you need to insert or remove the CD/DVD, I need to lift it up.Which isn't hard, but I rather wish I didn't have to this.But generally, it is compact, easy to set up and breakdown, definitely a good option for people on the go.

(More customer reviews)Perfect size for my Acer Aspire 7740 16.3 and room for my mouse! Folds down to fit in my bag for travel, keeps heat off your legs and was reasonably priced at a major retail office supply. However! The bottom is not contoured or padded and will leave marks on your unprotected legs. Come on Targus, you call this a lap desk? This is more like a desk top/laptop cooler! Could easyly be inproved on to be more comfortable on your lap.

3M Vertical Notebook Stand, Ergonomic, 3-Inch Vertical Adjustment, Black Review

(More customer reviews)I use multiple laptops for work as I can transport them from office to office easily, but hate typing on the small, cramped keyboards. This stand is very nice as it holds any size laptop very securely, is adjustable to any degree of tilt all the way to full vertical, and comes apart for slipping into a laptop bag and taking with you.
The vertical placement that this can do is great, hard to find in any other one. No way these will slip out either, very secure design.
To use this effectively though you will not be able to type on the notebook keyboard while it is in the stand, you want want a mini USB keyboard to plug into and place in front, or a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. So much nicer though to give it some air and raise the screen to eye level.
Took off one star because it is flat along the bottom and blocks access to the buttons on the front of my Dell XPS 1210 for things like mute and volume control, there is a Kensington stand I also have from the Dell site that has a curved front to allow access to those buttons, but it does not go vertical like this one, so have to choose what is best for you.
Overall, very good, highly recommend for getting your desk space back.

(More customer reviews)At first, I thought this stand was a bit overpriced.After I bought it and realized that it was made from solid metal, I'm willing to forgive the price.This item is solid and won't be breaking anytime soon.
I use it for my 13" MacBook Pro.One of my initial concerns was whether it would still hold my MBP since I have the Speck hardshell cover on it.Fortunately, it comes with three different silicone inserts for the stand and I'm using the largest one without any difficulty at all.
Put simply, it is a great stand and well worth the price I paid for it.
