(More customer reviews)In my opinion this is the best memory card reader you could get. The price at Amazon is a good deal, plus with the free shipping you won't make a mistake. Here is the summary:
Pros:
1. It looks elegant. The colour combination of silver and black makes it look like a serious tool you could display even in an office environment.
2. Comes with a bonus stand to enable the display at an upright position. Saves space in a cluttered environment.
3. Comes with another USB cable to you could position it horizontally (flat) on a table. You will have to keep the stand, in this case.
4. USB 2.0 speed which means faster transfer speed.
5. No drivers needed if you use the latest Windows XP or Mac OS X operating system. I use the Mac and there is nothing to install.
6. 8 in 1 memory card reader. Try finding that in othe products at that price and design. You connect as much memory cards that could fill the slot and they will appear individually in your desktop. This means you can transfer files between memory cards without having to transfer and use your desktop as a holding place.
7. Each slot has its own individual lights to indicate correct installation and file activity transfer.
8. Light and portable.
Cons:
1. Light - plastic construction. Feels fragile, but I guess SanDisk knows better on making it sturdy.
2. The cable for the bonus stand is long, but the extra cable supplied to lay the product flat is short - and I mean short! This is a plus for those who bring this with their portable computers and don't need the extra long cable. A big minus for those who wish to forego the stand, but decide to use with their desktop on a desk. You will need to connect it to a hub if your USB plug is nowhere close.
All in all a great buy for the price.

(More customer reviews)This one is a lil gem. Did you ever need to get the data from your SD card while at another puter? Of course you have. Enter this reader/flash drive. Not only is it very tiny and, erm, very affordable, it does just what it says it will ... reads, writes and stores so fast you have to look twice. (Wow! All those files THAT fast?!?!!? A-yup!)
I'm very impressed indeed.

-It's tiny & cute.
-It installed itself like butter (Win NT, XP).
-Down the road, when you get a bigger card (and you so know you will), you'll have a bigger flash drive. So it should not end up chucked in the corner in a month or two. It's got a future.
-It's got an LED so you know it's working.
-You should be able to access your SD card data nearly anywhere.

Nitpick: The cover over the SD card while fine does not hitch on with quite the kind of security I prefer (it slides on and off.) No problems at all so far, but I'll be watching that and treating it with due respect.
Meanwhile: Success, simplicity and E-Bliss.
Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)To mount a 3.5" hard drive in a 5.25" (CD/DVD) bay, this is all you need...and the price is right.You may spend a few minutes trying to figure out which way is up with these guys, but install it as shown in the photo linked to this page, and you'll have no trouble.The *slots* go against the drive, and your screw driver goes through the large oval holes to tighten them down.Then there are 4 machine screw holes on the outer flange to let you mount everything to your case.

Screws are included...If you don't have nimble fingers, you'll probably end up frustrated trying to get them started.It goes without saying that you shouldn't succumb to the temptation to use a magnetic screw driver when installing a hard drive.

(More customer reviews)I own a late 2008 15-inch MacBook Pro and a new mid 2010 17-inch MacBook Pro, both of which have an ExpressCard/34 slots.In 2008, I purchased an ExpressCard/34 slot, 21IN1 Multimedia Reader/writer Expresscard 34SLOT Mac/pc Sd/mmc/xd, which works well in both machines reading various SD and SDHC cards, and fits flush in both machines.

This ExpressCard/34 works virtually the same as my previous purchase, except that it is about $8 cheaper.They both read SD/SDHC cards, and fit flush in the MacBook Pros.I leave the cards in both machines permanently, and they can both be substituted for each other without change in performance.

One thing to note, that has been commented on by other reviewers, is that, despite the ExpressCard/34 itself fitting flush in the MacBook Pros, the SD/SDHC card will stick out of either express card.Thus, it is recommended that the SD/SDHC be removed from the MacBook Pros during transport to prevent damage to either the SD/SDHC card, the ExpressCard/34 card, or the machine ExpressCard/34 slot itself.

(More customer reviews)Just received this and tested it.It fits flush with the side of my laptop, so I plan to just leave it in all the time.When you have a CF card plugged in, it sticks out about 3/4 of an inch- makes it easy to pull out, but you probably wouldn't want to leave the CF card in all the time.Vista's built-in drivers load within seconds of plugging it in, and add a new removable disk drive to the system even if there's no CF card in.Transfers to and from my Extreme III CF card average around 15MB/s, a big improvement to the old PCMCIA adapter I was using.There's even a little plastic cover that protects the CF pins (you can see it in the picture), and slides back into the body when you push a CF card in.I've never had bent pins in a CF drive, but its a nice thought nonetheless.My only complaint is that it's a little tricky to get the CF card aligned properly when you're pushing it in, especially when this is already in your computer and you're trying to plug in the card by touch.It's not perfect, but it does the job I bought it for.
