(More customer reviews)I am using this microphone to dictate medical records along with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I found an immediate improvement in accuracy when I began using this microphone. I also feel that it fits very comfortably in the hand. The programmable buttons are handy time-savers. In fact, you can really utilize these more than I realized because each button is really 3 buttons in one as they are programmable for holding CTRL and SHIFT as well. They can activate function keys, macros, or type text macros. The trackball is not my favorite way to navigate my screen, but it is there if you don't feel like reaching for a mouse. It has given me an immediate boost in productivity and has made dictation more enjoyable. In fact, I am dictating this review, and have not needed to correct its output at all.

My only criticism is that it has a rather light, cheap feel in the hand. Also, the attractive red light that looks pretty on the advertisement (around the mic receiver and also illuminating the trackball) almost never comes on. Its an indicator light for recording, but it seems to only work with the recording test-program which the microphone comes with. It's a program which you will never use. The indicator lights never activate while dictating with Dragon. It's a minor criticism.

Summary: Nice mic, quality output, good ergonomics and convenient buttons. If it had a nicer "quality-feel" in the hand and indicator lights which worked with Dragon I would give it five stars easily.

(More customer reviews)About a month ago I acquired my Dynex microphone to replace the Rocketfish USB microphone I had loaned to a friend months before. The style and shape of the microphones appeared to be identical, complete with on/off button located on the front. I had been very happy with my Rocketfish microphone but was willing to try something different and took a chance on Dynex.

So far I have not been disappointed. I am dictating this review using my Dragon Naturally Speaking program version 10 and the microphone is working beautifully. The computer has no difficulty understanding my speech and is correctly transcribing all of the words that I'm saying. This is a factor of the software certainly, to some extent, but it is also a factor of the microphone: a crappy microphone would have meant garbled text. That is not happening.

I have also used the microphone to record brief portions of my speech, and the quality of the recordings are supremely accurate. Soon I intend to use it for Skype and I expect no surprises: I expect it to perform very well.

I like using a microphone which is not strapped across my head but which can be set on my desktop or be held in my hand while I dictate. Rocketfish was perfect for that purpose. So is this Dynex.

Summary: no complaints and only good things to say. Do not pay $50 for one, however, because they are widely available for much less. I acquired mine very gently used include shipping for less than $10.Don't waste your money.This is a fine product.

1)The size.
The mouth piece is actually near to your mouth. I am able to talk at a normal volume and the sound level and quality of sound on the other is great. I have had other head sets with a smaller foot print where this is not the case at all. Even though this headset is not ugly is does not have the 'cool' factor that some of the smaller sets semm to go after. If function is more important to you than form, this is your headset.

2)Works with both the office phone and cell phone.
And does a great job with both. I still have to stop and concentrate when I move from one phone to the other but I'm getting near the end of the learning curve. I LOVE eliminating one device. I spend 30-40% of my week out of the office. Wireless in the office is so helpful no closeing the headset wire in drawers or getting it burried under files. With its extened range any multi tasker will increase their productivity.

3) Comfort
The head set is very comfortable. For me to say that is rare. I have never been able to stand "ear buds". Any head set that offers interchangeable earpieces has not used my ear for the mold. This speaker rests against not in your ear and works beautifully. I actually do forget I have it on.

4)Desktop charging ststion.
I handle lot of files & misc projects on my desk. I've destroyed at least 4 wired headsets. When looking for a wireless hesd set, most seem to hae a weak footprint, that I know would always be subject to being knocked over. The Sennheiser is completely stable. This part of the unit has an "office cool" factor to it. It looks, functions and feels like quality

For any one in business the productivity enhansement of this headset justifies the price.

Misc. The noise cancellation feature works great. I have been driving and had the person on the other end of the call asked if I wase still there because of the slience. I never set up the voice dialing feature on my cell phone. When I paired the Bw900 it woke up the feature and I use it all the time now. My previous Jabra headset did not do this. Battery life is better than my cell phone. Never the less I plan to order a apare battery because I would hate to be with out this head set after a day in the field because of the battery and the base station has a charging slot for the spare.
