(More customer reviews)This monitor is an absolutely incredible value for the price.Cheap, great picture, top notch color, all the quality and speed you'd expect from a Samsung LCD monitor, and a really attractive design that looks great on your desk.

My only hesitation is that I think the ideal wide screen monitor is a couple inches larger than this (I use a 22" widescreen at work), but I just couldn't resist the price of this beauty when replacing my NEC MultiSync 17" CRT monitor at home (which was a very good monitor as well in it's day with great color).

You'll definitely want to drop the brightness level on this Samsung though as the default factory setting is pretty hard on the eyes.

I'm using the DVI connection and recommend you do the same if at all possible - DVI really helps sharpen up LCD's.

If your wallet is feeling a little thick lately, I'd get Samsung's 22", but otherwise you'll still be thrilled with this monitor.

(More customer reviews)Nice, sharp, bright and colorful display.The higher resolution makes a big difference and my Vista Aero graphics never looked better.This is a nice size for a desktop monitor for business and gaming applications.It was easy to set up and it looks really sharp in my home office.

I haven't hooked up the speakers, so I can't speak for the sound quality.If I could figure out how to work them into my 5.1 surround sound system I would, because getting two existing speakers off of the desk would make for a nice, clean look and give me a little more desk space.

(More customer reviews)This monitor has a great picture and works flawlessly with my MacBook. The 16:9 aspect is perfect for watching DVDs and hulu.com. The design is slick and modern, and the glossy screen is vibrant. For under $150.00 how can you go wrong?

The built in speakers are a little quiet, but better than my notebook's built in speakers.

When connecting with a Mac, I recommend turning the monitor's auto sleep function off, as it would sleep before I could get my Mac to output video.

(More customer reviews)My 19-inch Hyundai monitor died last week after four years (failed circuit board - not economical to repair), so I needed a replacement.The old monitor was SXGA (1280x1024), and I was hoping to move up to HD (1920x1080).However, my graphics chips won't support HD resolution, and my power supply won't support a new graphics card.So I confined my search to SXGA-class monitors.This one caught my eye, mostly because of the LED backlight (no CCFL to burn out) and claimed energy efficiency (15 watts, compared to 45 watts for the deceased Hyundai).It's not exactly SXGA, being slightly wider and shorter (1440x900).The total pixel count is about 1% less than SXGA, so I didn't think I'd be sacrificing much.Now that I have the monitor, I must say that I'm not sacrificing anything.The screen is much brighter and clearer than the old one, and when the monitor wakes up there's no warm-up time (CCFLs normally take a couple of minutes to get up to full brightness).Colors are vivid, and whites seem more white than with CCFL.I wanted to verify the power consumption, so I tested it with my Kill-A-Watt meter.It registered 14 watts - even better than the manufacturer's claims.I can't vouch for the quality of the internal speakers, as I use external speakers.But as a monitor I give it highest marks.
