(More customer reviews)After many days of doing research on CNET and PCWorld I settled on this computer to meet my basic computing needs. My old Dell desktop finally got the blue screen of death that broke the camel's back so I had to find a replacement. I'm not a computer gamer nor am I overly technical to the point where I even know what all of the ports on the back of the computer are used for. I basically only use this computer to surf the web, store music and pictures, and to use basic programs like Microsoft Office. So far this computer looks to do the job perfectly - it's about half the size as my old clunky Dell and twice as fast. It runs very quiet and so far I've found the Gateway brandware installed to be much less annoying/intrusive than the Dell programs. Perhaps the best feature is that it has an integrated wireless card inside so I don't need to deal with an annoying USB adaptor that constantly required attention to get it to work. The one negative thing I've found so far is that the bright white power light on the base unit will start to flash if the computer is in standby mode. This drives my wife crazy - maybe there is a way to stop this without covering it with a post-it note, but I've yet to figure it out.
Overall I highly recommend this computer to anyone like me who only buys a desktop for basic home use because they already have a laptop for work and they need somewhere to watch videos, store iTunes, check email, and edit pictures.
