Wth is wrong with the current price, I paid $47,98 for this ram and the current price is more than double. What? the price of the "components" to make the memory have raised 230% too?, this is nonsense... Memory manufacturers are ripping us off again...

Using WD Green 3.5" drive, 2x2GB DDR3, 90W Adapter, DVD Drive, 120mm fan at low speed.

Power Consumption:

1W @ OFF
2W @ Sleep (Win 7)
26W @ Idle
30W @ 1080p h.264 mkv
32 @ 1080p h.264 + hulu 480 p (Flash 10.1RC)

Overclocking:
I had it POST at 2.3GHZ, but doubt it would have been stable.
Finally settled on setting FSB at 666, which sets CPU @ 2ghz.
This let me set the memory to exactly 1200mhz, which I've found to be the highest this MB will go for memory.I had it stable at 2.13GHZ, but could only set memory at 1185ghz or so.Pros:

-N Wifi works great, better even than my previous full size Rosewill N Card

-Integrated bluetooth picks up my Logitech Dinovo keyboard

-plays my HULU, Netflix, and h.264 files just great (having installed Flash 10.1 RC)

-takes DDR3 memory, which uses less power and is now cheaper than DDR2.

-Win 7 seems snappy enough at 1.6ghz, but easily overclockable to 2.0ghz.I had it stable at 2.13Ghz, but I couldn' set the memory to 1200mhz.

-Comes with Laptop power adapter and the molex adapter that plugs into the MB can power 3 Sata devices, which GREATLY reduces wire clutter

Cons:

Hotter than expected, was hoping for completely fanless, but I'm not comfortable with this:

Cold boot temp was 35 CPU, 25 MB, but temp approached 65 CPU/ 45 MB when running 1080p video.

This is normal, considering it is a high powered GPU.
I read about a fanless Zotac board hitting 71C and no crashing problems.
Regardless, I threw a 120mm fan on the heatsink, which I cannot hear after setting to Silent in BIOS.

Motherboard reserves 512MB for itself, plus another 256-512MB for the GPU. So my OS reports only 3 of my 4GB, so make sure you have 2x2GB memory, else you'll end up with 1GB usable for the system.IMHO, This board is definitely a better value than Zotac's equivalent offering.

ANHUB 7" Inch Touchscreen Android Tablet PC PAD MID WiFi *A Pefect Xmas Gift* Review

ANHUB 7' Inch Touchscreen Android Tablet PC PAD MID WiFi *A Pefect Xmas Gift*
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This unit is white and has a single speaker in the back. The speaker quality is barely acceptable but thier is a place to plug in earbuds. It has a built in Mic. It uses a 20 Pin (i-Pod) USB connector. When the connector is plugged in it allows you access to the 1 GB of the Built in Flash Memory (The other 1 GB is reserved for the system files) and the SD card. Both drives will open up on the computer when the cable is plugged in. Overall the construction is of smooth relatively thin plastic and the entire unit is very light weight. This MID is much better for holding in 1 hand for extended periods of time and because of it's shape and weight is more comfortable for this task than larger MIDS. The 7" screen is bright and has a glossy sheen to it, making it unfit for use in full sunlight, however the screen is bright enough and the glare is not so bad, as to allow use during the day on a porch. The touch screen is a resistive type screen and works best (1000% times better) when used with a stylus. the user manual is not very helpful and after being read once can be safely deposited into the recycle bin.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with it's performance.

Out of the box (With the original firmware, no swap, default screen brightness, normal rotate, and the screen not calibrated) the interface is usable but slow. The screen rotates very slowly, the gravity sensor isn't very responsive, and is not very responsive to touch. Wifi will work within about 40 feet of a wifi hub. The farm game works, The notepad works, the MP3 Player works, The photo browser works, YouTube doesn't work, The included Marketplace (Called App Market has some very interesting apps) works, Documents to Go does not work, and Fing is in Chinese and does not seem to work. Out of the box with wifi on and with the defualt settings the battery time is about 2 hours, with moderate/heavy usage.

If you go to the Eken website they have an upgrade for the firmware (This fixes Youtube and seems to make the wireless work better along with fixing a few of the other issues). Installing the firmware is as easy as downloading it (To a computer), decompress the file (7Zip), move the folder called script to the top directory of an SD Card (Attached to your computer), Plug in the M001 (Make sure it is off), Take the SD card out of the computer and put the SD Card into the MID, and then turn on the device. Make sure the MID is plugged in the whole time it is upgrading the firmware.

Even with the upgraded firmware fixes there are more responsive/cleaner modified ROMS you could replace it with such as the Ecotox or Relax firmware.

With the modified ROMs and screen brightness reduced to 40%, I was getting wifi at 80+ feet from the router and much better battery life (3-3.5 hours) plus a much more responsive device.

Regardless of which ROM is used the screen should be calibrated with either a stylus or a mechanical pencil with the lead fully retracted. Do not calibrate with your finger. After the screen is properly calibrated the screen will work much better even if you use your finger. The screen's brightness should also be adjusted as soon as possible as it will increase the battery life.

Overall the gravity sensor isn't that great. At times, especially when you apps that have a pre-set orientation are opened, the sensor will stop working until the device is turned to the orientation that the app was in for about 5-10 seconds then turning the screen the way you want it to be. It takes about 2 seconds for the screen to rotate.

Adding a Swap File(See the slate droid site on how to do this) and using the slimmed down custom ROMs will increase the performance drastically.

The controls are pretty easy to master... The center button takes you back/exits the app, the + and - buttons adjust the volume and perform other functions in some apps. Pushing the menu will bring you to the menu in the app you are in (If it is the home screen you can see and access the notifications at the top of the screen without fiddling with the tiny button at the top). Pushing home takes you to your home screen and out of the app you are in. Sliding your finger upwards scrolls the screen/text down while sliding it downwards move the screen/text up. Tapping the app or link will select it.Overall a very useful device for E-Books (Several readers available), checking E-mail, casual music, casual surfing of the internet, watching youtube videos, managing your calender, viewing digital photos, and for playing puzzle games. I would recommend that it should be a perfect inexpensive Chritstmas gift for your friend, family, and anyone who love Mobile Internet !

This is a very good mic for general desktop use. However, the electret element is too cheap and tinny for serious recording.
I suggest performing a simple mod to replace the element with any other good pc microphone. Open the mic stem, remove the electret element, and replace it with a $.99 1/8in phono jack. Now you can plug your best pc microphone into it, and it will sound better than ever. As a matter of fact, it sounds way better than any USB pod I've used!!!
I use it with Visual Communicator pro and the microphone that comes in the box. My presentations sound like commercial quality.

Minoru 3D Webcam (Red/Chrome) Review

Minoru 3D Webcam
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't have a lot to say, since I only tried this cam briefly at the CES 2009 show where they were launched. But since there are no other reviews, I figure I could help you some.

These devices DID work, but the image is not crystal clear. It reminds me a lot of those old 3D movies, like Creature From The Black Lagoon. People need to wear the goofy two color 3D glasses to see the image, and it still looks blurry...but it IS 3D, which is cool.

I'm going to buy one for the novelty of it, but certainly won't make it my main USB camera. I love the top of the line Logitechs, and they offer such a good image over Skype that anyone can see, not just people with special glasses. If you just want a great image, I highly recommend the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 - it's worth the price.

If you are interested in 3D fun, go for this one. And don't forget that it can also run just one camera and send a normal 2D image.

You can also take 3D photos to send to your friends or upload to photo sharing sites, or even shoot 3D videos and upload them to YouTube or other video sharing sites. Minoru = Reality! Minoru connects easily to your PCs USB port just like any other webcam but thats where the similarities end. The Minoru software has stereoscopic anaglyphic processing that lets you be seen in three dimensions. The red and cyan anaglyph image produced by Minoru can be viewed by anybody who is wearing commonly available red and cyan 3D glasses (five pairs included with Minoru). Minoru can also be used as a standard 2D webcam for anyone who doesnt have the 3D glasses at hand. There is also a Picture in Picture function allowing you to show the images shown to Minorus 2 eyes separately. Minoru is just fun!

Average Reviews:

I Recently bought the M100 after comparing the IIIE, IIIXE and HandspringVisor Models. What made me buy the Palm M100. Three reasons. 1. Palm'sreputation of quality, and the look. I'm sorry but it's cool. Sure thescreen is a bit smaller, but I'm not writing War and Peace on this thing! 2. The fact that I only wanted to replace my organizer and have room for acouple of games. Actually I have over 15 games on this along with a goodchunk of info and still have over 75% of memory.Sure 8 mb is nice tohave, but it's also another $100 bucks. I can't see myself spending moremoney on additional game-boy like cartridges. Sure for developers and heavypower users the visor is probably the way to go, but I didn't like the factI had to pay $179 for a visor and another 30 bucks to serial link it withmy older computer. That's $209 plus tax to start versus $149 for the Palm. Moreover, the Visor 8mb would have been over $279 dollars vs. $149 just tostart out. FORGET IT. Like I said remeber what you are buying it for.!! 3. The way the standards are evolving and the way new devices are comingout, the next best thing is always around the corner, so again remindyourself what you are buying this for. The way I figure if something toocool comes out, (say after 6 months or so,when the flash module palms, newvisors or the next best pocket pc version comes out, I'll just give them100 to my daughter.

SAMSUNG P2370 23-Inch LCD Monitor Review

SAMSUNG P2370 23 inch LCD Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATED: June 20, 2009

I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about purchasing this online, virtually sight unseen.I went to Best Buy and saw the 20" version of this display and wasn't overly pleased, but then realized that the demo Best Buy had running on the monitor was not in the model's native resolution. So I came home and after a couple of days of deliberation with myself I took the plunge and bought this from Amazon. The display is a cinch to assemble.I've read some reviews where people have had great difficulty putting the stand together then attaching the stand to the monitor itself. This simply is not the case.Everything is keyed (all you have to do is pay attention to the carved out notches) and slid together very easily, no difficulty at all."Professional" reviews have indicated that the monitor is very wobbly. This is the case to an extent, but it takes a fair jolt to get this monitor to tip.In all practicality who is going to be hitting the monitor with their hand anyway trying to get it to tip over.Perhaps a good earthquake, a running child or clumsy oaf is needed.

Buyers will definitely want to take some time to calibrate the monitor.I am currently running Windows 7 RC1 so some calibration tools are included that don't come in previous versions of Windows (including Vista, that I have found anyway).A Google search for "monitor calibration" will help aid in this process."Professional" reviews have indicated that gray colors are not represented correctly, taking on a "yellowish hue."Out of the box using default settings this seemed to be the case (you'll see what I mean if you open a picture using Windows Photo Viewer, maximize the window and notice the color of the border surrounding the image), and using the monitor color profile that ships with the LCD (which Adobe Photoshop CS3 reports as being corrupted), but after customizing the monitor settings and getting a new color profile generated by Windows 7, this color turned from the "yellowish" hue to a light blue color as was displayed by my previous LCD (this of course is based on my current color scheme found in Windows 7).

Games play flawlessly, with good color, picture quality and vibrancy. No bleeding or blur with this 2ms response time display. The monitor includes presets for gaming, but if you calibrate the monitor properly this seems to be unneeded.Your mileage may vary depending on personal preference, but using in-game settings with brightness, contrast etc. can help get the job done.Games I tested in 1920x1080 were Crysis, the Half-Life 2 series, Far Cry 2, Unreal Tournament III, Stalker: Clear Sky, Street Fighter IV Benchmark (now available for download) and Bejeweled Twist. All played perfectly, again no blur or bleeding.I tested out a HD copy of "The Dark Knight" with no issues, perfect clarity in all respects. Some complaints (again from "professional" reviews) state that there is some white light bleed-through at the top edge of the screen on dark pictures.I found this to be very minor and not distracting at all.My desktop wallpaper images are native to 1920x1080 which is crisp and clear, so you'll probably want to find some HD or widescreen wallpapers for your viewing pleasure.

Settings for the monitor I have found to be optimal (at least for myself) are as follows:
Picture, Brightness: 50
Picture, Contrast: 76
Picture, Sharpness: 68
MagicBright: Custom
Response Time: Normal
Color, MagiColor: Off
Red: 50
Green: 50
Blue: 50:
Color Tone: Custom
Color Effect: Off
Gamma: Mode1

It may also be advantageous to use the ClearType technology built into Windows (MacOS probably has something similar), again personal preference so your mileage may vary.Windows 7 is a bit more extensive in customizing ClearType than prevoius versions of Windows.

I am very pleased with this monitor and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality display at a reasonable price.

first is important to say the whole kit: asus p5b-vm, 2 Gb dual channel pc6400 corsair, core 2 duo E6600 2.4 Ghz 4 Mb cache L2, windows vista ultimate. it runs like a windows 95 in the same machine (ridicously fast). photoshop CS3 takes a mere 2, 32 seconds to open (first time in the day, after this is faster). the video on board works like a grafic card.. most of the new games runs with no problems. two things that i bother.. first, there's NO INFORMATION on the manual or the page about how to put the memory to get the dual channel (saw it on a forum in other site) and the board is kind of hot.. i use a thermaltake mambo series as a case, with a rear fan and the board is always 45 - 50

Netgear WNHDEB111-100NAS Wireless N Access Point Review

Netgear WNHDEB111-100NAS Wireless N Access Point
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this kit to send HD video from my computer to my TV media device. It has adequate bandwidth and worked out of the box, but I do not get a strong signal from the main floor to the basement of my house, a distance of about 25 feet. There are a couple of walls as well as the floor, and the basement ceiling has metal duct work and pipes above the plasterboard, so I am probably lucky to penetrate all that. I used a laptop to indicate wireless signal strength, and spent a couple of hours orienting each device for the best signal. Now I get a level that varies from 50% to 70%, and that works reliably for HD at 720p. I have not been able to send 1080i over the link without momentary stops and starts in the audio and video; however the link never breaks connection and never needs resetting. It seems to just limit the bandwidth as the signal strength goes lower.

I bought a third WNHDE 111 to connect to another computer, and than link has never been interrupted since I installed it over a month ago. It has always worked well. I had previously used a Linksys G router that was interrupted once or twice a day, and it had to be reinstated manually using the "repair" function in the Windows wireless software. It was my wife's computer in the kitchen, so I had to fix it!

I still have the wireless G system up, and it works well around the house with a third computer, a laptop, but it never gave a reliable signal for my wife's computer in the kitchen; and it would not carry the HD video for the TV. I also use that old G router to connect the ethernet from my main computer to the WNHDE 111.

I recommend this device if you don't have too many walls and floors to penetrate. I am a retired electronics engineer, and I assure everyone that the higher the frequency, the poorer the penetration, but the more bandwidth and the more freedom from interference.

Update:After 7 months, I have better results. With some tweaking of the settings (set the Channel Width to 20 MHz, turn off the "Broadcast SSID", and lower Beacon Period to 50 msec) I can now stream 25 Mbps HD video through all the walls. I think the main problem was that the auto 20/40 Channel Width was trying to run at 40 and was not successful, sometimes switching between 20 and 40. When I reduced the channel width, I got an increase in signal strength. I can now stream 1080i HD for hours without any problem.

Jim

Casio Cassiopeia E-125 Color Pocket PC Review

Casio Cassiopeia E-125 Color Pocket PC
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Do you still use one of those old monochromatic dumb terminals at work or at home? Of course not, I didn't think so.Then why would someone want to use a plain Palm Pilot or a Visor, when you can get this little wonder for a (little more)?
I got my Cassiopeia 125 about a month ago and I cannot imagine life without it.I went through 3 Palm Pilots (including the color pilot) but this little gadget is the BEST.It is not a handheld device, this is COMPUTER.No kidding!
You get much more than just a gadget for appointments and phone numbers. You have a windows operating system (there is nothing new to learn, everyone knows windows by now) and you can run such programs as Excel and Word in an incredible color display. You can also add a wireless internet connection in the place of the memory card and access the interent at high speed. With the 125's bright colorful screen, you will feel like surfing on your desktop (Ok, some extra scrolling IS required). You can receive and review all your emails when you synchronize with your computer, or you can go with the wireless connection and work directly from your Cassioppeia, sending and receiving emails.
The 125 comes preloaded with 32 mgbytes of memory but your can upgrade to 1 Gig (yes you read that right) since the Compact flash slot is compatible with the new IBM microdrive.Jornada CANNOT do this, and the Compaq Ipaq needs expensive and bulky add ons to achieve this effect. Think about it, 1 gig of memory can hold almost 20 hours of MP3s.I have been using mine as an MP3 player on the subway, on the way to work, and I love it.Be warned though, you need a Compact flash reader for your computer to tranfer the music on the card.Doing that through the 125's craddle is time consuming. You can also use the flash memory to transfer pictures to your 125 and show them to everyone at work.No more carrying around babypictures or vacation pictures in your wallet. You can now bore your friends with this hi-tech gadget.
The 125 is only slightly bulkier than the Palm III color, but the additional features more than make for it.Hand recognition is 100 better than the Pilot Operating system. The 125 "learns" your handwriting and recognizes the words you write more than once.So after you type "marketing" once, the next time you start typing the word, by the 3rd or 4th letter you have the suggested word appear on your screen, and all you have to do is tap at it to enter it without writing any further.Very handy for names, long common business terms, and other commonly used words.
The battery life is about 6 hours, but (unlike the Compaq Ipaq) you have the option of buying additional battery and taking it with you on long trips. If the battery on you Ipaq runs out, tough luck.
Documentation on this product is not the best. You will have to figure out some features by yourself, like for example how to close all open applications when there are too many of them and the 125 starts slowing down (Setting>sytems>memory>running Programs>stop all).
Other than that, this is a brilliant gadget and I recommend it to anyone interested in a Pocket PC.The Ipaq has a slight advantage in Mhzs, but that's really not that important.Plus the Ipaq is still going through the process of figuring out all the bugs. This is the 3rd or 4th cassiopeia model and all the early problems have been cleared.

Bought this for a new CPU that had a 64bit Windows 7 operating system. The cpu came with only 3 GB of memory and I wanted to take full advantage of the 64bit system's capabilities which require a minimum 4GB (2GB + 2GB) memory configuration. As usual with Amazon, ordering and shipping was flawless and the memory arrived no problem.I installed it and fired up my CPU.No problems. The BIOS and Windows 7 recognized the new memory and I didn't have to do anything else.So far, I haven't really noticed a big difference in operating system speeds just yet over the 3 GB version, however, I understand that the additional memory in the 64bit system will help more when running multiple programs at the same time.I'm sure the additional memory won't hurt in any case, and I'm very happy with the system and speed and this memory.

Creative Inspire T3030 2.1 Speaker System ( 51MF0315AA002 ) Review

Creative Inspire T3030 2.1 Speaker System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Creative is such a good computer speaker company, they deserve a lot of credit.

These are not my favorite speakers, though. The tweeter is good...Accoustic guitar or mandolin sounds as if someone is sitting right on my desk playing. The bass is pretty good, although sometimes a bit muffled on higher volume.

But the midrange seems off.Often the high range sounds good, the bass is fine, but the vocals in the mid-range get lost in it all.

The bass unit is medium sized, but it still takes up extra space. So I put it under my desk. BUT, the only volume control is attached by a cord to the bass unit. So I have to reach under the desk to turn it up or down. This is very inconvenient (in a "What were they thinking?" sort of way).

Overall, the system has trouble bringing the high end, bass and mid-range together in a coherent way.

Creative has what I feel is a much better product in the Gigaworks T20.The sound is spectacular, and the bass is built into the same unit as the tweeter and midrange. In particular, the bass shaft extends vertically up along the speaker and opens at the top. So there's no need for a separate third unit for bass. Sounds great in all ranges, has bass and volume controls on the speaker, looks good.

Given the choice betwen the T20 or this T3030 system, definitely go for the T20.

Superb little hard drive. I only use it as a firewire drive, so I can't speak to its USB capabilities. I originally ordered a Western Digitial Passport, but I later found that iBooks and PowerBooks don't output enough USB power to run it off USB alone -- this little drive functions just fine powered only by the firewire port.

For OS X 10.5 users, this is a great Time Machine drive. I bought a second for my fiancee.

Lexar Professional Series 8 GB 300x UDMA CompactFlash Memory Card CF8GB-300-381 Review

Lexar Professional Series 8 GB 300x UDMA CompactFlash Memory Card CF8GB-300-381
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Lexar 8 GB UDMA card to use in a Canon 5D Mark II, which writes very large (20MB) files when you shoot in RAW mode (which I do).The place where I see an advantage is in downloading these large files to my computer.

Mated to a UDMA card reader, the card transfers about 72 files a minute or a bit better than one per second. My old SanDisk Extreme III card in a non-UDMA-enabled reader takes about 3-4 times longer. And of course if you have a camera that writes large files, 8GB gives you some headroom when you're out taking large number of photos -- it can take about 240 RAW images on my camera.

There's also an advantage to a high speed card like this if you shoot continuously with this type of camera, since files will be written more quickly with a fast card.If you have a UDMA-enabled camera and shoot often in continuous mode, this may be a worthwhile purchase for you.If you have a need for lots of capacity with any camera and you have or buy a UDMA-enabled card reader, this card will speed up file transfer very significantly. In my experience Lexar makes very reliable cards that do not have compatibility issues with major brands of digital SLRs.

Yamaha RP-U100 CAVIT External Audio Soundboard Review

Yamaha RP-U100 CAVIT External Audio Soundboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is one truly impressive PC Receiver (External Sound Card). Although Yamaha's website does not mention XP, it does work under XP. Just plug the USB cable into the computer and XP automatically installs all the required drivers. Install the software on the CD and you can control the receiver from the computer. Unfortunately the Yamaha driver does not work under XP (only 98/me/2000), and as a result I cannot get the inputs to work with the computer. On the positive side, since the unit works out of the box with XP with no drivers needed, you can rest assured that it will very likely work with future version of Windows. (It also works with Mac out of the box I've heard).
So, with that out of the way, let's talk about the important stuff.
First, the receiver can function without a PC. In fact, almost all the features can be accessed. You can select the inputs, set DSP mode, select FM preset, and tuning to a particular station, all without using the PC. This is extremely important, as you would not want to buy something that will only work when the PC is on. I am glad Yamaha designed the unit with this in mind.
The sound from the receiver is simply incredible. The DAC on the unit appears to be quite good. If you are using the build-in sound card on the motherboard or a plain old sound blaster, you should immediately hear the difference. The sound is richer, has more resolution, and has more punch to it. The amp on the headphone jack is also quite good and delivers excellent sound quality on cheap and expensive headphones. It plays loud enough and reach the max my ear can handle way before maxing out.
Perhaps the best thing is the unit is a looker. It looks really cute, according to one female coworker. The construction is rock solid, it weights a hefty 12 pounds! I've used an external Sound Blaster Extigy and this unit feels much more like a real receiver.
I think "Blair from Chicago" missed the point of having this receiver. This receiver is all about sound quality. It's like buying a BMW and complains that the Corolla also takes you there at a much cheaper price. :)
The only shortcoming is the software. Even though I acquired this in Aug 2003 (at an extremely good price btw), the CD still contains software from 1999 and Yamaha's website offers no software update. The software works, but by 2003 standards it feels a little strange. I am not that bothered by it however, I'd rather have awesome hardware and wimpy software than the other way around. I know I will be enjoying this receiver for years to come, no matter what computer/OS I will use in the future.

This 75 pound multifunction machine arrived quickly. It didn't come with the USB Cable that's required, a minor annoyance. The price was competitive and has dropped significantly since my purchase. Before ordering, I contacted the seller to confirm this is new, not a refurb.

I had an immediate problem with the machine but not due to any fault of the machine. This machine ideally should be plugged into a wall outlet directly and not to a battery backup surge suppressor unit. Otherwise, it tends to turn itself off. However, it has a surge suppressor built into it. When you have problems such as this, you can use their offshore call center in Manila and benefit from their troubleshooting history.Manila is Zerox's 1st-level technical support.More on that below.

Xerox is a big name in copiers, of course, and this model serves industrial needs yet should be complimented with a "workhorse printer."One can't expect a multifunction machine to be used as one's workhorse printer.A really good printer might last ten years and down the line the worry will be whether operating systems will support them.Multifunction machines last in good condition maybe half that long depending on how they're used.

This Phaser 6128MFP/N reminds me a lot of much larger HP machines I've seen in offices except it's a lot more compact. The scan area is the max paper size: 8.5 x 14 in.This machine uses Paperport software. You can scan from your computer using this software and that's how I use it.

The setup seemed easy except for not including the USB cable. But there was a twist to it and my experience will save you time. Initially, I believed the Phaser 6120MFP was not capable of using the feeder tray to scan multiple pages. My first call to Manila erroneously confirmed that, and I used the glass to manually replace page after page for multi-page scans. A recent call to Manila resulted in my being connected to the 2nd-level call center, which is in the U.S.The 2nd-level support assisted me in using the setup wizard to enable the machine to accept multi-page scans using the feeder tray. This machine can scan multiple pages using the feeder tray.

Learning to use the software requires a little more than previous models, but the software is better.A scan can be done in varying resolution scales with the highest being truly great. It's amazing what you can do with this model once you learn how.Because of the ease and interface, you will control your scans from your PC.

Pros:
*New, not a refurbished machine
*Xerox name brand
* Customer and technical support, available M-F from 5am - 5pm Pacific time
*Ease of installation on network
*Resolution: up to 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch) is excellent
*PaperPort - great scan to PC desktop software
*Windows, Mac, Linux supported (I use Windows 7 and without issue)
*Excellent color print quality
* Prints legal size - the tray expands to hold the paper size
*Improved front panel for ease of use and troubleshooting (for non-jam error codes, just power off then up)
*27 second warm up time is quite reasonable and makes power saving feature practical
*Security features: secure fax receive; secure print; scan to email with authentication
* Scans multiple pages at a time
*Speed within this price range: color is up to 12 ppm (pages per minute); black & white is up to 16 ppm
*Toner gauges - see toner level
*Paper types: Bond, Business card stock, Card stock, Cover, Envelopes, Glossy, Labels, Plain paper
*Compactness of machine and appearance
*Quiet - the energy saving feature makes this extra quiet
*Save using Run Black - allows you to substitute colors you run out of by using black, a standard feature in multifunction machines today
*Includes one year on-site warranty and Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee
*Low power consumption
* Good warranty coverage (after 1st yr, it's $25 per call for assistance)

Cons:
*Paper size is maximum 8.5 x 14 in.
*Manual 2-sided output, but is expected at this price range
*Relatively high running costs in toner
*35 sheet document feeder is too small for some jobs
*Maximum 40,000 pages per month duty limitation and recommended print volume is only 3,000 pages per month
*Print speed of graphics is slow
* Doesn't come with required USB Cable
* May have to be plugged directly in wall outlet to avoid continual self-shutdown.

Advice for Using Support:
Print out your Configuration Pages (3 pages), circle the Serial Number on the 1st page.Write the Xerox technical support phone # on it and file.Use that whenever you call technical support. They ask for your serial number upfront. Try not to be as accepting of a no-can-do response at 1st-level support as I was.Get to 2nd-level for anything complex or unresolved. When you have an error, you have to remove it before you can change any settings.

When considering this machine, you might look at the competing Dell product. I prefer the Xerox name brand over Dell, all things being equal. The Dell multifunction printer: Dell 2135cn Multifunction Color Laser Printer

Any questions - please leave a comment so I can reply.Comments to help evaluate versus other multifunction options are welcome.
If you have this machine and have issues with it, please post a comment and let me know - thanks.

HP PD3200 Pocket Media Drive Review

For anybody wondering, this is a 320GB HP Pocket Media Drive. As of the date of this review, the Amazon description says it's a "Personal Media Drive", which is a different type of HP drive.Combined with the lack of a product picture, it had me wondering what would show up.But the product ID (PD3200) is in the Pocket Drive family.

As of now, it's only a slight improvement in cost per GB over the previous iterations, but for people who need the capacity and have the correct drive bay, this offers a lot of storage.298GB on mine.
