(More customer reviews)I've had this drive for a month, it's been perfect.It replaces a WD "My Book" drive of the same size.I'm sorry to say that I've had two of the WDs fail at 13 months (the warranty on them is 12 months).I'm hoping for many more years of good use from the G-Tech.Using the FireWire 400 interface it's slightly faster than the My Books were with the USB 2.0 interface.
The aluminum case and the overall design of the G-Tech certainly gives one confidence, mechanically the drive case is extremely well constructed.
If I have one negative on the G-Tech drive it's the white LED on the front, which is always on whether the drive's being accessed or not.When the drive is being accessed the LED flashes brighter.If it's in your line of sight it's like having a flashlight pointed your way, especially if the room is dark.I suppose this is just one of the many good uses for duck tape.
