I only use it for my laptop, and don't use it constantly... so, in case it is not mentioned in the descriptions... the headlites do lite up when u click a mouse button, but that feature can be turned off with a switch. And the whole mouse function, red-tracking light, can be shutdown entirely when not in use, both of these to save the batteries (takes 2 AAAs)
