I have 4 Minis. I bought the first one over a year ago.I have one for my Time Machine back up, one for music, one for photos/videos, & a 500G to back up the others, that I keep in a fire proof safe.

Some suggestions for those who gave bad reviews:
1.When the drive is running, leave it alone!Don't pick it up or move it around.Just leave it sitting flat.

2.You must dismount the drive properly!See FAQ on Simple Tech's web site.

3.Don't be in such a hurry!Wait several seconds to be sure the drive has fully stopped.

4.Don't yank the USB plug out. You might create a tiny spark.Sneak the plug out gently, especially if it's windy or there's static electricity in the air.

5.As for the lack of power complaints...The shorter the USB cable, the greater the power. Try using your camera cable.At about 50+G of info, the external drive may need up to 1 Amp to get going.If the Mini is not seen by the computer, unplug everything - Mini first.Then attach both USB plugs of the "Y" cable & reconnect - Mini last.Best to get an externally powered USB hub.Belkin makes a nice little white 4 (& 7) port.Each port of the Belkin puts out ? Amp (500mA).I can run several Minis at once, without any power problems.

6. Lastly, if your not backed up at least twice, you're not backed up at all.

Use a little common sense & save yourself a lot of grief.

The Mini is a great little product!!!Be nice to it, and it'll be nice to you.

Now, I am able to run more than 1 program simultaneously, and the computer detects the amount of RAM as 1.93 GB, not exactly 2 GB, but is close enough to described amount. I can view movies while running system optimization programs (such as Spybot) and at the same time also load web pages too. Not bad for the price.

Of course, I hope your experience would differ, if you were to buy Kingston product(s), but mine was terrible.

I bought a Kingston CompactFlash card that offered a $50 mail-in rebate.I promptly (as in, the day AFTER I received the item delivery) went to photocopy my rebate certificate and UPC code and sales receipt; then sent it all on its merry way.Yes, I was well within the rebate period, both for the purchase AND for the postmark date.My purchase was a valid retailer (think HUGE online e-tailer).

The rebate REQUIRED sending THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL UPC label, which was like the entire outside package for my CF card, about the size of 1 ? business cards when flattened.No problem.

About TWO MONTHS later, I get a letter saying "your rebate request was denied because you failed to furnish the appropriate ORIGINAL UPC code as required by the rebate offer."

Well, nowWHAT?I can't RE-SEND the original (it was already in their possession).I called, and they insisted on repeating what the letter said.I re-sent my PHOTOCOPIES and they said a photocopy is invalid proof of purchase.

After another 6 weeks of pursuing this, I figured this is their scam.They simply wouldn't honor the rebate.And without the ORIGINAL UPC in my possession, I couldn't really submit to their requirements.

If you're looking for a RAM upgrade, I'd suggest you look at a quality company like OCZ (the BEST!), or Patriot, Geil, or Corsair.If you're looking for a value Flash Memory Card, I might suggest SanDisk.

For one, Kingston does NOT make the best products, they are VALUE-driven products.

Two, there are competitors to Kingston with just as good or better value-to-performance ratios at the same prices.

Three, Kingston will not stand behind their customer as I have experienced.

I urge you to, please, be cautious of Kingston and their rebate scams.

MSI N460GTX Cyclone 1GD5/OC 1GB Overclocked Graphics Card Review

(More customer reviews)This is about the smoothest running video card I've had in a long time. The past 6 years ATI has been my exclusive video card manufacture starting with the ATI X800 pro through the Radeon 1GB 4800 VC. After about 2 years with my 4800 it was starting to get long in the tooth with some of the newer titles this year. I originally wanted to go with ATI's 5850 model but the increase in price and high temps turned me off from ATI's products. I looked at Nvidia's GTX 470 VC but like the 5850 high temps, price, and power consumption turned me off. I was going to settle on the 5850 until this card came out, much better FPS per dollar, cooler temps, lower power consumption, and better over clocking abilities made this purchase a no brainer.
Pros
Cheap for what you get in performance, easy to install and very stable drivers at this point. Went from 48 FPS on my 4800 in Dirt 2 to 74 FPS over clocked. Speaking of overclocking I pushed the core to 800 MHZ, shaders to 1600 MHZ, and memory to 3900 MHZ stable with low temps around 65C playing Crysis.In terms of performance over clocked it performs on par if not a little better than the 5850 depending on what game and probably about 10 percent behind the GTX 470 which is not bad for cards that cost $50-100 more. Biggest reason why I got this card is because of 3D displays coming out in the near future something you can't get fully using ATI/AMD products.
Cons:
1st, Nvida's control panel is sloppy and slow, while the drivers so far has proven to be stable I can't stand how unresponsive Nvida's control panel is. 2nd reason why I switched to ATI only the past 6 years was card failures from Nvidia. My Gefore 2 MX, Gefore 4 TI 4400, and Gefore 6600 GT all failed in 8 months or less, not good when you are paying $300 plus for some of those cards. 3rd, this card is not that much faster than my 4800 playing DX9 or 10 games. I would say default settings its only about 25 percent faster, overclocked probably around 30-35 percent. This not really a con, I just prefer buying mid to high cards when it becomes 50 percent or more faster than my current.
Other thoughts:
If you got $225-250 laying around and have a VC slower than a 4800 or Geforce 260 than this card is right one for you, it's fast, cheap, and efficient in both size and power consumption.

Unfortunately I learned a lesson. Just because you are buying PC3200 DDR memory, that doesn't mean it is fully compatible with your motherboard. It seems there is double sided or dual channel memory versus single. As a result I can't get more than 2GB of memory to be recognized on my motherboard using these memory sticks. That isn't a flaw in this memory product. It is a flaw in the PC3200 "standard".

(More customer reviews)My Dell Inspiron 8600 running Windows XP with 512 MB RAM worked well up until a year or so ago.The amount of memory needed to run the system gradually creeped beyond 512MB and the system spent much time paging and thrashing, with very slow response for even trivial actions.I finally bought a single 1 GB sodimm to replace one of the 256 MB modules.Now it has ~1.25 GB of RAM and doesn't need to page any more, and is very responsive.

Easy to install if you've done this kind of thing before.The included instructions are minimal, but no doubt you can google to find detailed directions on replacing memory, or consult the PC manufacturer's doc.

Well worth the cost and trouble.

The Kingston purchase from Amazon was much cheaper and worked flawlessly with easily understandable installation and boot up with no problem.I believe I'll stay with Amazon from now on for computer upgrades, it's a good thing.

Obviouly this isn't high end ballistix ram but I would hazard a guess that 99% of people couldn't tell the difference in performance. This is great ram at a great cost backed by a great company. Sure it's not PC4000 ram but for some 50mhz (and slower memory timings I might ad) isn't worth an extra $100-$200 this ram is great if you aren't looking to OC the you know what out of it (even then I've heard people get decent oc's with it sometimes)
