(More customer reviews)Purchased this monitor as part of a bundle with an Emachines system @ Circuit City.The monitor has a great picture and comes with JBL Platinum Speakers and built in microphone.While I'm not a fan of built in mic's this one works OK.The speakers are powered and need to be manually turned on and off via the volume control.They can be hung on the side of the monitor or they also can be put on the desktop with supplied stands.They sound pretty good but sound distorted at higher levels.They are a huge step up from the supplied e-machines speakers that came with the CPU though.Controls are easy to use and all cables and such are provided....

Sony CPD-G500 21" FD Trinitron Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)This monitor is absolutely amazing.The images are sharp and the text is very clear.Plus the monitor being flat is a plus also! Some monitors I've seen have a low refresh rate, but you won't have that problem with this monitor.I use it at 1600x1200 resolution and the refresh rate is 85 Hz.No flicker there :)The only minuses I can think of are the 2 very very faint horizontal lines in the screen but that cant be helped since its an aperature grill and that the monitor is big.But hey, if you're buying a 21" monitor, you'd expect it to be big right?Buy this monitor and you won't be disappointed.

HP W2408H 24-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)I recently did some much needed upgrades for my home office and this by far my favorite.I first saw it in Best Buy, came home to check for online reviews and to see if I could find it cheaper...I did at Amazon!

It's VERY easy to set up and is crystal clear.( I mean, razor sharp -- no stretched or blurred look anywhere!)However, there was something not quite right with the colors (especially greens) that really bothered me.PLUS the HP "My Display" software that goes with it that contains all of the drivers etc, is not fully functional on non HP machines. (meaning no calibration was available for color or contrast beyond what's built into the monitor itself which was never enough to fix my problem)I was so frustrated and disappointed.(I had been warned of this on another site but thought I'd take a gamble)Well, after trying to hook it up via the HDMI (from VGA) cable that came with it to a new $150 video card -- the colors were still way off and now the screen was all jumpy from that stupid card...(that went right back!) Then, I noticed something when I right clicked on my desktop to adjust my display settings (in XP pro) there was a selection (that had been there all along...duh) that said NVIDIA Control Panel (my internal graphics card) and I was able to calibrate the colors and adjust everything else there and now everything's hunky dory!When it first boots up, the colors look a little neon-ish again but within seconds it goes to the profile I created from my graphics card software.I am sure many would have figured it out sooner than I did, I just wanted to prevent anyone else from beating their head against the wall for a week like I did if I could.(BTW, I have completely removed the video card that I bought and it's hooked up via VGA and it is still crisp and clear)

**BTW, even though the My Display software is largely useless for me, I left it there.For some reason when I uninstalled it, the light that's under the transparent power button on the top of the monitor goes away.That was the only noticeable change after uninstalling it but it annoyed me, so I reinstalled it and it's back on and I just ignore the software**

My husband and I publish a local magazine that is glossy and full color and I am able to do so much more with this monitor than I could before.I can view two (sometimes 3) projects side by side if need be...I love that!And typing an email in outlook looks like it's in about a 60 font!And programs like Illustrator where you need a lot of workspace it's invaluable.I never have to scroll around to grab or view something.My last monitor was a 19" Sony flat panel (that cost more than TWICE what this one did 4 years ago) and I thought it was just fine but once I plugged this lil beauty in I quickly passed it on to my son for his computer.I haven't needed to use the portrait position of the screen so I haven't even tried it.But it came that way when it arrived and was very easy to swivel back around.

One bad thing...don't count on ditching your speakers for the ones that come with this one -- man do they stink!I swear my laptop has better speakers.But it's sort of like people griping that their cell phone camera doesn't take good enough pictures.If you want a good camera buy a camera!If you want a good monitor buy this one and just pretend the speakers aren't even there.The price is way worth it even without the speakers.

If the screen is totally black there is a little light leak at the top and bottom, but it's not noticeable once any type of picture is being displayed. It also does a fair job displaying at other resolutions when you switch from the native 1920x1080. The sound comes from only one speaker, but it is adequate for most of the stuff you do on a computer (dinks, donks, buzzes and simple dialog). If you want to listen to music I would recommend going with external speakers. The only other rub is although you can tilt the screen it doesn't go up and down, but hey...It only cost me $179 for a 1920X1080 monitor. Keep in mind that it also has HDMI and came with the feaking HDMI cable....NICE! Why these cables cost $30 in Wal-mart for the cheep ones is beyond me?????? All in all a definite 2 thumbs up!

I got rid of the card to a friend and decided to get this supposedly "budget" card..

Tested on an AMD Phenom2 955 CPU with 4gb ddr2 in 3d mark both of these in crossfire mode beat out my 9800 GX2
i was able to hit 18792 in 3dmark

this card Overclocks like a dream!!! temp never went above 48C for me
got the core to 840 from the stock 700 and the mem to 1255 from the stock setting as well.
working perfectly, no hiccups, no problems! and LOW temps!!! the card runs quiet, i dont notice it.the eyefinity multiple display ability, Dx11 support small form of the card itself..great features.
this card will fit in any tower case i ever seen, its much shorter than the 5750 and even the 5850

this card is able to run all the modern games at excellent framerates. The beauty part is, that 2 of these (non OCed) in crossfire mode easily outperforms the 5850, and if you overclock them? Even better!

if your on a budget and want a extreme gaming rig with a 260 dollar video card investment, then buy 2 of these, and youll be ready to go,...for a while.
(i got mine for 130 a piece)
if you have time and dont mind waiting .wait for a single card that does roughly the same thing, like a 5850i was skeptical at first when buying the one card...i thought.."you get what you pay for" well ...somehow XFX and ATI broke the rules here...and delivered incredible power and gaming bliss at low a low price!

UPDATE:
The graphic quality seems to be better than my 9800 GX2, the textures have a warmer feel and look.

This card is great also at multitasking between different jobs. I have run 1080p movies to my HD TV and at the SAME TIME ran games like Left 4 dead 2 at MAX settings while having an mmorpg like Runes of magic (also max settigns) also running minimized on my computer ...NOSIGNIFICANT DROPS in framerates, no unplayable slowdown or choppiness whatsoever...
2 games, at the same time, i ping pong between the two of them while playing an HD movie on the TV

yeah im pretty happy with this card.

UPDATE 5-5-10

just one of these cards RIPS through games like Buishock2 and Mass effect 2 on MAX SETTINGS. framerate never drops in framerate i cant verify if its slightly under 60fps or higher, but its so smooth to play, its a beauty to behold.
as i test more newer games ill add them

It's important for people who buy this to make sure that they set the System Preferences so that their video and sound work on their TVs.

It runs mkv files smoothly. I'm streaming all my videos and pictures from my server and never have a problem. If you wanna play games you are out of luck with this PC, it won't play any video games,but this is a HTPC not a video game pc. The new version just came out, but I don't see the need to spend $250 more (if you get this one for $400 or close, the new one costs around $650), maybe in a near future I will definetly buy another HTPc from ASROCK.

(More customer reviews)This is about the smoothest running video card I've had in a long time. The past 6 years ATI has been my exclusive video card manufacture starting with the ATI X800 pro through the Radeon 1GB 4800 VC. After about 2 years with my 4800 it was starting to get long in the tooth with some of the newer titles this year. I originally wanted to go with ATI's 5850 model but the increase in price and high temps turned me off from ATI's products. I looked at Nvidia's GTX 470 VC but like the 5850 high temps, price, and power consumption turned me off. I was going to settle on the 5850 until this card came out, much better FPS per dollar, cooler temps, lower power consumption, and better over clocking abilities made this purchase a no brainer.
Pros
Cheap for what you get in performance, easy to install and very stable drivers at this point. Went from 48 FPS on my 4800 in Dirt 2 to 74 FPS over clocked. Speaking of overclocking I pushed the core to 800 MHZ, shaders to 1600 MHZ, and memory to 3900 MHZ stable with low temps around 65C playing Crysis.In terms of performance over clocked it performs on par if not a little better than the 5850 depending on what game and probably about 10 percent behind the GTX 470 which is not bad for cards that cost $50-100 more. Biggest reason why I got this card is because of 3D displays coming out in the near future something you can't get fully using ATI/AMD products.
Cons:
1st, Nvida's control panel is sloppy and slow, while the drivers so far has proven to be stable I can't stand how unresponsive Nvida's control panel is. 2nd reason why I switched to ATI only the past 6 years was card failures from Nvidia. My Gefore 2 MX, Gefore 4 TI 4400, and Gefore 6600 GT all failed in 8 months or less, not good when you are paying $300 plus for some of those cards. 3rd, this card is not that much faster than my 4800 playing DX9 or 10 games. I would say default settings its only about 25 percent faster, overclocked probably around 30-35 percent. This not really a con, I just prefer buying mid to high cards when it becomes 50 percent or more faster than my current.
Other thoughts:
If you got $225-250 laying around and have a VC slower than a 4800 or Geforce 260 than this card is right one for you, it's fast, cheap, and efficient in both size and power consumption.

ViewSonic's VX2739WM 27-Inch 1920x1080 Full HD Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)I used a 19inch Samsung HDTV Ln-1954H as a computer monitor. The desktop, icons, graphics, games- everything seemed to be extra bright. Ive used an Acer monitor, NEC, as well as a Mac and found none of those to be as bright. 2 years later, I upgraded to this Viewsonic. I had been over the search engine trying to find hands-on articles, reviews, pictures, and Ive found mixed reviews. A few reviews cited a bleed (light/glow appearing around the edges of the LCD), bleached colors, and a wobbly stand. While the stand, in my opinion, is stable enough (provided you fasten it to the neck or can be mounted on wall) the monitor is fine [notice I make no mention of the audio function]. After the brighter-than-normal colors on the Samsung, I find the so called bleached colors are welcome. When playing a video disk, the colors are seem normal- although a user can adjust the color temperature on the OnScreen Display. A user can also use the manual controls through a video card suite like ATI Catalyst Control Center or the NVidia equivalent.
A nice quality of the this Viewsonic makes everything look sharp- the Windows Start button in Windows7 looks sharper, the Windows logo in Office2007 does too. Adobe Creative Suite looks as sharp as it should on a Mac (although proper color adjustments are still necessary for graphic work). Games look sharp, there is no ghosting, thanks to the 1MS response time. My brother had noticed a increase in the amount of detail that the Viewsonic shows over my old Samsung.
Hooked up to a HDMI switcher, a game console also looks nice on this machine. The PS3 XMB looks sharp, Blu-Rays seem better (although the increase in the screen size also helps here), even the Earth visualization in the music player seems a whole lot better. An AT&T cable box, connected via HDMI, looks nice too. Upscaling on the HD channels as well as the native upscaling on a capable computer and game console keeps a good image quality. Nothing seems stretched. Now I must mention this: Using a HDMI cable to connect a HD monitor/HDTV to a computer, cable/sat box, game console is recommended to preserve the screen aspect! If you use anything less the image quality will be significantly reduced.

While the bleed is noticeable- it is no different that my Samsung or other monitors Ive used. Sure, it may be noticeable while watching a movie but it is not a show stopper. Ive watched several movies already and have not noticed it.
The sound is another issue. While HDMI cables support -of course- video they also support audio. This monitor supports Dolby something or another but the audio quality is horrible. Sounds like the monitor has metal cans around the speakers. There is volume control in the OSD but I recommend it on mute, adjust your computer default playback device to computer speakers, and get a Windows Media Center compatible remote like a Gyration GYR3101US. Finding a good balance with the monitor's volume and the volume of your box or console is difficult. While Comcast had a volume control for its HD box, AT&T does not. A PS3 has a volume control for music and video disks but not for games. Even then, the PS3 volume contorl is not that advanced or helpful.
If you connect a game console or cable/sat box: use a theater system. With the monitor's audio quality so bad I would say there are no or very few other options.

Would I recommend this product?
I like it but there is room for improvement. While this monitor performs well by simply displaying your desktop and windows, showing graphics and games with nothing but praise, and increases the amount of workspace to have plenty of windows open- I would recommend it for the family computer, a single user computer, work computer. I would not recommend this monitor for those who would would use it strictly for music(poor audio quality and control) or videos and the hardcore gamers (bleed through). This is a good monitor but for everyday use with minimal to moderate multimedia applications.

What is 1ms response time?
Response time in monitors refer to the amount of time a pixel (dot) takes to go from black to white and back to black again. It is measured in milliseconds (ms). I downloaded the OS X driver from the manufacturer website, installed it, restarted and connected the monitor. Works just great and delivers a great picture. On more reason to like this adapter is that it comes super complete with adapters for VGA and HDMI and a USB cable. Given the fact that Apple takes 30 Dollars just for a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter (which, of course, you can also buy here at Amazon for $10) I find the $50 that I paid for this USB adapter a reasonable solution to connect another monitor to an iMac.

Like it a lot.I bought one to go with my Asus VW246H 24" 16:9 and liked it so much I snagged a second VW266h 25.5".The but comes in for several reasons.Both VW266h displays suffered from a bluish tint.Different batches manufactured several months apart.Issue has been reported by others in several forums.Calibration is the cure.A hueypro calibrator took care of it just fine.The huey pro is not as automatic as one thinks, even after setting the monitor back to defaults it took several attempts to get "close enough" matching for dual VW266H displays.The blue tinge was quite noticeable when the VW266H was next to my VW246H. More than likely you will need a calibrator to make the VW266H look as great as it can.You might not notice if you are running just a single monitor and are not very computer savvy.

The second issue is that it is 1920x1200 and 25.5" diagonally. This means the dot pitch is a bit on the large size and some smaller text loses its image quality.In Windows 7 I found upping the text size to a custom setting of 115% pretty much took care of the issue.Every now and then the text is a bit screwy on a few web pages.Any higher than 115% and text on those same web pages are really messed up.

Color shift is a bit more than 24" monitors.Color shift is a problem on all TN displays, IMHO anything larger than a 25.5" would not doubt greatly benefit from higher resolution, say 2048 x 1152 or 2560 x 1600.Hard to find IPS/VA LCD panels give you greater viewing angles and better color but for most TN LCD panels work out just fine.I Have not found a decent IPS/VA panel larger than 22" and that is too small for my old eyes.Don't let anyone kid you, if you want a monitor that you can mount on an optional arm or mount so you can rotate it 180 degrees for text you really should be looking at IPS or *VA displays,TN displays simply are not good as vertical text viewers.

Loving the real estate and size of these 25.5" displays.The size makes up for the shortcomings.If I had it to do over I would probably buy the X-Rite i1 Display 2 instead of the hueypro.IMHO the hueypro just seems cheap and the X-Rite i1 Display 2 gets better user reviews than the spyder3 or the X-Rite i1 Display 2.The hueypro is quite a bit less expensive and did do its job after several tries.I would buy the VW266H displays again and I would not be without a calibrator even if it is just a hueypro no matter what monitors I bought.The VH266H offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Monitors seem to be the hardest thing to choose in comparison to other computer parts.TN versus IPS/VA panels. Google is your friend. 1920x1200 (16:10) versus 1929x1080 (16:9).I found that TN panels are just fine for most as are either 16:9 or 16:10.

(More customer reviews)I was hesitant to buy this part mostly because of the price. As it is, building my Blu-ray HD HTPC ended up costing me about 3 times what I had originally anticipated! Here's yet another $100+ dollars ... "will it work and will it be worth it?" I wondered. Bottom line, I'm very happy I purchased this item because it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I was having problems with my HTPC setup. I run HDMI carrying audio and video from my HTPC's motherboard to a A/V Receiver. Then, another HDMI cord goes from the Receiver to my HDTV.Before installing the HDMI Detective, the problem would occur whenever (a) my HTPC would go to sleep/standby and then I would wake it up; or (b) I would turn off my Receiver or HDTV and then turn them back on. In these scenarios, once I woke up the PC or turned on the Receiver/TV I would no longer have a video or audio signal via my HDMI cords. One solution was to do a hard restart on the HTPC, which isn't horrible, but certainly is a pain in the butt. The other solution was to leave all three components running 24/7, which I quickly ruled out as an option since cumulatively they consume about 1000 watts and we all know electricity isn't free.

So, I purchased the HDMI Detective and installed it between my HTPC and the Receiver. Plugging in the Detective was easy and the initial programing took about 5 minutes. This is a very easy-to-use device.

With the HDMI Detective in place between my HTPC and Receiver, now everything works more like a traditional PC.I can put my HTPC to sleep and when I wake it up the Receiver instantly sees the HDMI connection and sends the subsequent signal on to the HDTV.Also, when I turn off and turn back on my Receiver or HDTV, everything picks up on the HDMI signal as if nothing were the matter.

In conclusion, the HDMI Detective is an expensive item that you likely didn't anticipate needing to buy for your setup.But since you're reading this review you must be having HDMI problems.The HDMI Detective is 100% worth the price. I did some hefty research and I could not find any other items on the market that do the same thing that the HDMI Detective does, so that makes it even more worth the price. It is compact, easy to use, and most importantly, works perfectly.

Stop stressing, buy the HDMI Detective. It will solve your HDMI HARDWARE problems. Solving SOFTWARE problems is another story for another time. :)

owned a 23" LED LCD 1080p and a 26" LCD monitor. This monitor by far surpasses the
image quality and design of both those products.

LED Backlighting: My previous LED monitor was just about as good as this one but
the previous monitor had a glass pane over the screen. This monitor however has
a matte finished screen for a no glare experience...

Contrast: Obviously the contrast ratio is not 5M : 1 but it is the best on any
monitor I have ever seen. A little bit of tweaking in the color menu and you
will have life like pictures/video/gaming all on this screenBoot Speed: Some reviews on here state that the Boot Speed is slow, this is not
the case with mine, it boots up in less than a second after touching the touch
sensitive power button conveniently located on the bottom middle of the bezel....

Design: Most people complain about not having a swivel option... Just turn your
monitor its not that hard.... Others complain about a lack of a height adjustment...
Just sit lower/higher... The tilt adjustment is all I need to have this monitor set
up just the way i want it...

Lack of Inputs: This monitor comes with a DVI and a HDMI input... Which is not a problem
for me because all my devices support those two formats. But to everyone else that has
a component hook up, you are SOL... If you have a VGA connection the monitor comes with a
very useful VGA to DVI cable that works pretty well with my Sony Vaio....

Response Time: My old LED monitor had a terrible response time, and I am an avid gamer so I
need a good response time, well this monitor excels in the response time category, games
are crisp with no blur and the image responds perfectly with every move I make!!!

In Conclusion: This monitor is sexy, lightweight, and has the most amazing picture you
will ever see in a 23 in. PLEASE GO BUY THIS PRODUCT....What's great about it: LED Backlighting, Contrast, Brightness, Boot Speed, Simplicity...
What's not so great: Buttons on back, Lack of inputs...
