(More customer reviews)This is a great product.. or should I say could be a great product.Kingston is dead last in SSD support among the major manufacturers in my opinion.Go with the intel equivalent (X25-V) and never look back, the extra $10-$20 is well worth it.Kingston said trim firmware would be released for this drive and for the V+ line...ask them via email and you will find out that is probably not going to happen.I will repeat it again, BUY THE INTEL X25-V!! and you will not have to deal with Kingstons lack of support.Don't believe me?Go to their website and look at the support site for SSD's....no usable info and not even a forum to discuss issues.Absolutely horrid customer support!

(More customer reviews)I consider myself a technology enthusiast who has replaced multiple hard drives in multiple notebooks and desktops over the years. I usually just install a clean copy of Windows whenever I install a new hard drive, but I've also used various types of software to clone hard drives so that I don't have to re-install Windows.

I can honestly say that this is the easiest upgrade kit and easiest cloning software I've ever used. Just remove your old hard drive from your notebook, install the new SSD, install the old hard drive into the provided external enclosure and connect it to a USB port on your notebook, then insert the install CD into the drive and follow the on-screen instructions.

Best of all, the solid state drive (SSD) provides trouble-free shock protection for all your data (no more crashing hard drives) and it will make your laptop feel faster as well. Just be sure that you're using this kit with a laptop/notebook that has a SATA hard drive and not an older IDE hard drive interface.

Pros:
-- Includes an external USB enclosure so you can use your old hard drive after you've replaced it with an SSD.
-- Includes the easiest cloning software I've ever seen.
-- Provides a nice boost to laptop performance at a fair price.

Cons:
-- No printed copy on the installation instructions. You have to print out the instructions from the PDF document included on the CD.
-- If you have a larger hard drive you need to delete files off your old drive so that it takes up enough room to fit on the smaller SSD before you can clone the drive.
-- Since this is a budget-priced SSD it is faster than a traditional hard disk drive but isn't as fast as some of the more expensive SSDs offered by Kingston and other companies.

The GOODS

- nice grey aluminum casing means it is durable
- LED flashes when copying or transferring files from device
- 2.0 fast standard speed
- lanyard groove on the flash drive & not on the cap!
- silver imprint text design gives a nice look to it

The BADS

- the plastic protruding inside the cap will wear out overtime, inevitably causing the cap to become less secure, making it prone for dust to enter the USB's teeth.And of course, your more likely to lose the cap eventually.

()()()()()(Update: I used this for about 1 week and today I'm experiencing an error.The computer is asking me to reformat this USB flash drive.The same message pops up when I plug the flash drive an another computer.I will return this product.

I bought mine for $19.95 at Fry's Electronic at a regular price so don't pay anything more than that!

(More customer reviews)I'll begin by saying that I have 24GB of Kingston Value Ram memory installed on my workstation as it routinely uses 35-50% or more of that for compute intensive tasks and serious multi-tasking.I initially purchased the Value Ram because it was the cheapest quality ram available.My workstation is also used for gaming and I have not noticed any memory bottlenecks due to the ECC FB-DIMMs.While memory is only part of the equation, performance in games is stable almost to a fault in COD4, Medieval Total War, COD5, and Eve Online.Frame rates and load times are very consistent - my only complaint would be that the FSB is tied to the multiplier and does not like frequency modifications as I overclock, but then again server components aren't really meant for overclocking, are they?

As I've used and been very satisfied with Kingston products in the past, I knew these Dimms were backed by a solid warranty.This was an issue because I've had a couple of defective Kingston FB-DIMM 800 memory modules.Both of them had sloppily applied thermal interface material that was under or on the gold pins.These modules were also from different lots.I had not overclocked this lot when the DIMMS failed, as I was breaking the system in.I am uncertain what caused the failure, but it was almost certainly a quality control issue.Normally I would knock them down a few stars, but as Kingston backs these products with a lifetime warranty, other than being slightly inconvenienced, I will not complain.

The Dimms were simply a steal when I ordered them direct from the Kingston website, and were honestly, cheaper than they were on Amazon during November, 2008.I plan to order another set of 8 GB for a project build later this year and highly recommend them to any with a 5400 chipset, just have a couple of back-ups on hand!

Now, I am able to run more than 1 program simultaneously, and the computer detects the amount of RAM as 1.93 GB, not exactly 2 GB, but is close enough to described amount. I can view movies while running system optimization programs (such as Spybot) and at the same time also load web pages too. Not bad for the price.

So I went price hunting for the cheapest memory with a trusted brand and lifetime warranty. I found this PNY which is equivalent to the Kingston KTT3311/256. I got it for a great price with mail-in rebate. I followed the instruction from my notebook manual and inserted this PNY into the memory slot. I turned on my notebook and the processor immediately recognized the total 512MB. I'm very satisfied with this product and I had not problem. I can tell how much my notebook speeds up when it starts up and applications run faster. The other reviewer shouldn't have put her review here as she bought a different product and this memory comes with a lifetime warranty. If you find a good price, I definitely recommend this.

I was surprised that all the chips were on one side; the other side is flat circuity. The card is thinner than the original so you need to be careful when pressing firmly down into slot. Immediate success when I turned computer back on; doubling the memory made a notable difference in speed for this older machine.

Great packing as "two" since this Dell needed a pair of the same type. Very reasonable price by Amazon.com for Prime Shipping customer!

(More customer reviews)After getting one of these for my laptop 6 months ago, I just bought a second P128 as part of a new system I'm building.The drive in my laptop (Win 7, Trim enabled) is still extremely fast and my new PC runs very quickly too.

Newer and slightly faster SSD controllers (sandstorm) are now coming out, but we're talking slight incremental improvements - you'd probably not notice any difference in real-world use.So if you can get one of these Samsung controlled drives cheaper, I'd still recommend getting one, since they have all the key features: Trim support, self-healing, 128mb controller cache etc.
