(More customer reviews)After trying unsuccessfully to upgrade my Dell Dimension 3000 by simply adding another memory stick of the same specs in the second slot, I sent the first memory stick (which worked OK by itself, but not in parallel with the Dell factory stick) back to Amazon for a full refund.I then ordered this matched pair 1 GB (2x512 MB) upgrade for a Dell Dimension 3000 from Crucial Technologies (thru Amazon).It arrived in about a week.Very high quality memory, made in the USA.I removed the factory 256 MB memory stick and replaced it with the Crucial memory pair.The computer booted up just fine and works great.The expanded memory really speeded up my machine by a significant amount.

(More customer reviews)Bought this for a new CPU that had a 64bit Windows 7 operating system.The cpu came with only 3 GB of memory and I wanted to take full advantage of the 64bit system's capabilities which require a minimum 4GB (2GB + 2GB) memory configuration.As usual with Amazon, ordering and shipping was flawless and the memory arrived no problem.I installed it and fired up my CPU.No problems.The BIOS and Windows 7 recognized the new memory and I didn't have to do anything else.So far, I haven't really noticed a big difference in operating system speeds just yet over the 3 GB version, however, I understand that the additional memory in the 64bit system will help more when running multiple programs at the same time.I'm sure the additional memory won't hurt in any case, and I'm very happy with the system and speed and this memory.

(More customer reviews)I'll begin by saying that I have 24GB of Kingston Value Ram memory installed on my workstation as it routinely uses 35-50% or more of that for compute intensive tasks and serious multi-tasking.I initially purchased the Value Ram because it was the cheapest quality ram available.My workstation is also used for gaming and I have not noticed any memory bottlenecks due to the ECC FB-DIMMs.While memory is only part of the equation, performance in games is stable almost to a fault in COD4, Medieval Total War, COD5, and Eve Online.Frame rates and load times are very consistent - my only complaint would be that the FSB is tied to the multiplier and does not like frequency modifications as I overclock, but then again server components aren't really meant for overclocking, are they?

As I've used and been very satisfied with Kingston products in the past, I knew these Dimms were backed by a solid warranty.This was an issue because I've had a couple of defective Kingston FB-DIMM 800 memory modules.Both of them had sloppily applied thermal interface material that was under or on the gold pins.These modules were also from different lots.I had not overclocked this lot when the DIMMS failed, as I was breaking the system in.I am uncertain what caused the failure, but it was almost certainly a quality control issue.Normally I would knock them down a few stars, but as Kingston backs these products with a lifetime warranty, other than being slightly inconvenienced, I will not complain.

The Dimms were simply a steal when I ordered them direct from the Kingston website, and were honestly, cheaper than they were on Amazon during November, 2008.I plan to order another set of 8 GB for a project build later this year and highly recommend them to any with a 5400 chipset, just have a couple of back-ups on hand!

I'm not blaming the memory but I don't think the Corsair would have had the same problem. Obviously I'm a Corsair fan. But I can't pass up a bargain either.

(More customer reviews)I have been using this memory for a couple of months now - no problems - in case there is still any debate about 2GB RAM being supported in emac, the answer is yes (at least it is in this 1.42 superdrive model), 2GB RAM is recognized in the system profiler - received order in 3 business days - i purchased this RAM on July 12th, 2007 for $128.63 which i thought was a bargain - today, Sept. 19th, 2007, the price is $115.19 - if you don't have to have it right away, you might want to wait and see how much it goes down - i purchased mine directly from this page from Crucial Tech. - they are a well respected company that is known for standing behind it's products.

I previously could not get my bios to run at 200 mhz with 2 double sided modules from Geil (which is actually 400mhz).I even updated the bios, went through the motherboard manual which stated that the other module needed to be single sided when using two memory modules.So I returned one the Geil modules and purchased this productIt still would only register at 166mhz regardless of what order the modules were installed in.Then I bought a Kingston Value Ram double sided 512 MB KVR400/512R 184-pin DIMM DDR400 DDR PC3200 and used it with this product.Bam! It ran at 200 mhz.
