(More customer reviews)Reviewed the quality of sound with comparable Bose 2.1 System and purchased HP because of significant price difference.Was VERY pleased with performance on home computer when listening to CDs or iPod.
Notes:1) Each speaker and the control unit must be fed thru " electrical ports" in the desktop; single cable connection with three non-detachable wires feeding the speakers/control.Fit is "tight" but doable.
2) Control unit has headphone jack which purportably can be set to "turn-off" desk speakers when listening thru the headphones -- this has NEVER worked.
3) Control unit required disassembly to check/fix a cold solder connection to right speaker -- quit after 4 months; repaired.
Overall:Good looking and excellent sound quality for the price.A little more money spent by hp to upgrade the controller components would have resulted in a higher quality unit.
