(More customer reviews)I bought this cpu second hand. I was a little skeptical at first but it worked on the first boot. It was well packaged. The seller shipped the item quickly and it arrived before the scheduled time.
I bought this cpu because I wasn't ready to change my entire system. I upgraded from the athlon 64 3000+. A difference can only be seen when you multi-task. However the cpu is faster than the 3000+ and it handles the memory better. I had 3.5 gigs of RAM in my system and the 3000+ was only seeing 3 gigs the 4200 x2 was seeing all 3.5.
The CPU also runs a lot cooler using less voltage than the single core. I had it running at 20 degrees C when i initially installed it. However in my attempt to overclock it, i messed up the settings in the bios and the cpu now runs at 41 degrees.
For those of you who are still looking to hold on to your s939 mobo.. this is a good buy!!!
