(More customer reviews)First let me say that I am hardly an expert in PC displays and have a great deal more experience with LCD HDTVs. This is my first TFT display, and I am absolutely floored at how much more enjoyable the visual experience of Windows Vista Aero is.

I am running the display in 1440 x 900 and it looks bright, sharp and the colors are perfect. The display comes with a fairly advanced configuration tool, HP My Display, for those who really want to tweak settings for maximum accuracy in colors, brightness and sharpness. I have not had to use this yet, as the default settings seem too good for me to do any better.

If you have been using a regular LCD display or a CRT monitor, buying a solid TFT display like this is well worth the money. It's like wiping away that cloudy film that builds up on a car windshield.

The speakers are convenient, but low-quality. This did not prevent me from giving the unit a 5 because that's what I expect from built-in speakers. They are not visible, located on the bottom of the monitor. Quality-wise they are probably on par with fairly good built-in notebook speakers (primary issue being no bass).
