This CPU is very fast, very inexpensive, and if you are lucky (and have an appropriate motherboard), you can unlock an extra core.I didn't buy this CPU for gaming performance though, I bought it for energy savings.I have several aging Pentium 4 and Socket 939 systems that are in use by family and they needed something better and not so power hungry (they have a nasty habit of leaving them on 24/7). The Rana processor definitely fits the bill.Long term savings on electricity bills will pay for this CPU, and the huge boost in performance is nice too.

I'd venture to say as of 3Q 2010, this is probably the best budget CPU on the market right now.It beats the pants out of many of the older Intel Core 2 Duo processors that are still in heavy use today. It benched faster than a couple Core 2 Duo systems (E8600, E6750) that I moved to office duty.
