(More customer reviews)I had been looking for a monitor mount that would allow my flat screen monitor to swivel between portrait and landscape. One problem was my monitor weighed in at 26 pounds and all the mounts I found were for monitors up to 20 pounds though some claimed to use the mounts with slightly heavier monitors than specs allowed for. I did find other mounts for heavier monitors but they were in the 300 dollar range. My monitor must not have been designed for portrait orientation as the holes for securing onto a mount, are not in the center: Sony SDM-X202 21inch. Was worried the lopsided results when rotated to Portrait, would cause the monitor to sag down on one side. However this monitor desktop mount is so good, the monitor rotates and stays however I put it. I LOVE THIS MOUNT! Has two ways to fasten to desktop: vice like mechanism fastens at edge of desk, or if your desk doesn't have a lip big enough, you can fasten on the desk with drilling four holes and bolting through the desk. It has a brace that the bolts screw into underneath the desk and is very strong. You can even drill a bigger hole in between the four bolt holes, that would allow feeding cables very inconspicuosly through the hollow of the mounts and vertical brace. I now have the monitor where ever I want it instead of adjusting my body and neck to the monitor...IT IS GREAT!!! The vertical adjustment does require going to the back of the desk to raise the arm and monitor from the desk mount position. From the front of the monitor, I can tilt the monitro(leaning away or towards me), rotate portrait/landscape, swivel to the left or right, pull towards me or push away from me, swing the arm to the left or right...just perfection thank you! The pictures I am sending, I haven't worked with the cords too well yet so messy until I have the time.
Vertical adjustment in detail: the center of the monitor fastener, the X like brace, raises from 11.5 inches to 15 inches. You untighten the telescoping fastener, pull up or push down holding onto the arm close to the desktop pillar. If the monitor mount is pulled up as high as it goes, it takes a little force to dislodge it from a frozen state so it will move up or down to your liking. In other words vertical adjustment might require somebody stronger than yourself.
