My disk speed in Windows 7 experience went from 5.9 to 7.4!!!I'm giddy with excitement at how much faster my computer feels now.Previously, I had a Corsair SSD which I was pretty happy with. But I'm blown away with this drive.My only disappointment is that the actual formatted size is closer to 110GB.My previous drive was 128GB (120GB formatted).

Used Acronis Trueimage Home Acronis True Image Home 2010 to copy the disk from my old disk to new (process took less than 1hr). Have a eSATA adapter ThermaltakeBlacX eSATAUSB Docking Station which I placed the new drive in to copy the data from my old drive.Then I just swapped them (sold my old drive for $100). You might consider just using your old drive as a backup using the same setup.

This drive is perfect for the road warrior who wants performance PLUS better battery life.I'm an IT tech for a living (have been in technology for 20+ years) so I'm not easily impressed by technology.Yet, I would highly recommend this drive. After research, I decided this was the fastest drive on the market in this price range and it exceeded my expectations.

In case you don't know, be sure to use this type of drive with Windows 7 -- you can use it with XP but you won't realize it's full potential.

(More customer reviews)I did many many hours researching SSD's before deciding on this one. The Controller is one of the newer ones out there (Sanforce) and I believe the controller plays a big role in Speeds of these SSD's.

One of the things I looked at was Benchmarking this drive.
ATTO Benchmark was the Standard for Drive Benchmarking that I researched, so that is what I used.
Read about setup to tweaking. Found an excellent tweaking guide on Tweak Town on SSD's.
With the claimed 4k Random Write (Aligned): 50,000 IOPS being so much more than the others at 10,000 IOPS, I think makes a big difference.

Another thing (rumor possibly) I found out is that Sanforce makes the Firmware faster for OCZ than all the rest, at least at at the time being that is, maybe sometime in the future all the other Sanforce 1200 SSD's will get the faster firmware too?

OCZ's Claimed speeds are: Read 285 MB/s, Write: up to 275 MB/s, Sustained Write: up to 250 MB/s.
My ATTO Benchmark score default setting was about 280 MBs Read and 270 MBs Write. Pluse or Minus 2 MBs.

System Specs are:
Asus PK5 Premium, Intel Quad Core 3.1GHZ, 4GB OCZ Reaper DDR2, 1000 Watt Enermax Power Supply, EVGA Nvidia 470, Creative X-Fi Pro, Windows 7 64bit.

Ok I have to say this is my first Desktop SSD.
I am so thrilled with the blazing fast speed!! It's all I can think about!
This was for my Game PC.
So I got to have another one for my wife's PC. OH and another to run Raid 0 for my Game system, and one more for my main Windows 7 System!

Once you experience the speed of these fast SSD's you never want to use a slow HHD again!
It's like 56K vs Fiber Optics! Serious!

Could seriously do without the gaudy gold plated bling on the heat spreaders, but they work, and I don't have to look at it.

Buy it from Amazon - almost $30 cheaper than ZipZoomFly (not available at NewEgg as of this writing). Excellent deal for outstanding memory.

Used on an MSI X58 Pro-E Mobo (along with an Intel Core i7 920 and an XFX HD 4890 850M with 1GB of DDR5 RAM). No conflicts, lockups, or other issues.

(More customer reviews)First let me say that OCZ makes decent reliable Ram and these are no different.

The Heat sinks are more for decoration than function as cited from various reviews on the net. Those who have a cramped area around their memory slots may want to pass on this ram as the sinks can really get in the way of things since it makes them more or less double the height.

Performance wise they are average and on par with most DDR2 800MHZ on the market.

Overall they work as they should and may look cool in a custom case but the Heat Pipe is worthless for cooling so buy for the look not the cooling.

3 Stars for being space hogs.

(More customer reviews)I bought 4 GB of this memory for my new Intel DP35DP mainboard, together with an Intel Core 2 quad processor Q6600. As I thought my new board supports 800 Mhz memory I did not investigate further. That was not a good idea as I noticed after installing the new 4 GB of OCZ memory. My PC ran for about 3 hours and then it shut down and never came up again. I could not even enter into the BIOS setup, I was pretty scared that something burned out.

After doing some research in the Internet I found out that my Intel board does support only 1.8 volt memory but the OCZ memory requires at least 1.9 volt (but it is specified for 2.1 Volt, so if the mainboard supplies 2.1 Volt would be better).

I removed the memory and tested it with an ASUS A5K Deluxe board, with this board the memory runs just fine.

Resuming it's a good memory but not for all motherboards. It seems that Intel boards in general do not support voltages over 1.8 (at least as what I found out). If you own an Intel board, don't buy this memory.

Specifically, it allows mounting two 2.5" drives in the space of a 3.5" drive, and has all 10 tapped (threaded) holes that a 3.5" HDD has, in the right places (6 on the sides, 4 on the bottom). This makes it a truly universal mount -- it will fit in any case that has mounting holes designed to fit a standard 3.5" HDD.

(More customer reviews)This RAM runs fine at its rated settings, but you will have to manually set the frequency and timings in the some (probably most) BIOSes since this is just overclocked PC26400. I've got it running at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1V with no problems. If you don't want to have to set the timings in the BIOS, you may want to consider different RAM (and most likely, different speed RAM altogether).
